WNBA announces Caitlin Clark news after unforgettable week

It's been quite the week for Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark. Even for someone as used to making headlines and breaking records as this player, it's been a significant week for Clark.

On Friday, Clark became the first player in WNBA history to record at least a 40-point and 10-assist game. That's huge. She actually scored 45 points.

Also, for that same game against the Seattle Storm, Clark became the fastest player in the history of the WNBA to reach 200 career three-pointers. Her 45 points also set a new scoring record for the Fever. So, yes, this was a special week for Clark and one that she won't forget anytime soon.

Now, the WNBA is recognizing Clark. It needs to realize how important she is to this franchise, so it's great to see the league honor her.

WNBA honors Caitlin Clark as Eastern Conference Player of the Week

On Tuesday, the WNBA announced that it's naming Clark the Eastern Conference Player of the Week. 

"Another monster week for CC," they wrote on X with a fire emoji. "Caitlin Clark earns Eastern Conference Player of the Week honors in Week 9 after averaging 25.0 PPG, 2.3 RPG and 7.7 APG for the Indiana Fever."
