WNBA Attendance: Week in review

For the final week in the 2024 season, there were only 11 games played. The largest attendance for the shortened week belongs to the Washington Mystics on Thursday, September 19 (20,711). Once again, the lowest attendance for the week belongs to the Atlanta Dream on Tuesday, September 17 (3,355).

At the end of the 2024 season, the Indiana Fever saw the largest increase from last season (+318.8%). Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Sparks were second (+68.5%), followed by the New York Liberty (+63.7%). In contrast, the lowest increases from last season were the Phoenix Mercury (+16.5%) followed by the Las Vegas Aces (+18.1%). Additionally, all twelve teams increased their attendance from last season. Overall, league attendance was up by 48.2 percent from 2023, and this season was the third highest in league history (9,807). The league only averaged more fans in the 1998 and 1999 seasons ( 10,869 and 10,205).

The Week (Season) Ahead

The WNBA Playoffs began on Sunday, September 22. The WNBA Finals will begin on Thursday, October 10. The last possible date for the WNBA Finals is Sunday, October 20. Additionally, the expansion draft for the Golden State Valkyries will be held on Friday, December 6.
