Last week, the Connecticut Sun had the best record in the league, now they’ve lost two straight games. Fortunately, they have beat this 4-13 Mystics squad twice already this season, and nine times in their last ten head to head matchups.

Let's hop into the WNBA odds and make a Sun vs. Mystics pick.

Connecticut Sun

The total is set at low as 152.5 for this game which ties for the Sun’s second lowest total of the season, but rightfully so. The Sun are ranked second overall in defensive rating, and are allowing just 91.6 opponent points per 100 possessions. They are dead last in pace and possessions per 40 minute. This will also be their third consecutive road game, luckily they are staying on the east coast for this one.

As for their offense, they score most of their points within the arc, especially since DeWanna Bonner has been struggling from deep in her past five games (5-24 from three.) Washington will still be without Shakira Austin and Brittney Sykes while Aaliyah Edwards is listed as doubtful, so the Sun shouldn’t have much trouble getting down low. However, Alyssa Thomas is also dealing with an ankle issue and listed as a game time decision. This could mean we see more from Brionna Jones who’s usage and points has trended up over the last five games.

Washington Mystics

Washington has won four of their last five games, but those wins did came against the Sky, Dream, and the now last place Wings. None of those teams rank higher than fifth in defensive rating. Still, in their last seven games, the Mystics have averaged 87.3 points, which would rank second in the league. Not bad for a team ranked 10th in offensive rating. This will be their third game in a four-game homestand, and after facing the porous defense of Dallas the Mystics are back to reality vs the Sun.

Sun vs. Mystics

Betting Pick & Prediction

Connecticut will be eager to get back in the win column and that means locking down on defense, which shouldn't be hard on a team as short-handed as Washington. I'll take the under on this already low total.

Pick: Under 153
