WNBA courts honor Black Lives Matter movement for 2020 season

The WNBA is taking a similar approach to the NBA in its court design for the 2020 season.

Much like the NBA, the women's league is honoring the Black Lives Matter movement by painting the words on all courts being used for the season.

The Black Lives Matter signs are positioned near the WNBA logo in the middle of the court, while one Black Lives matter sign is positioned in the upper left of the WNBA logo and the other in the lower right.

The league also is honoring Breonna Taylor, a victim of police brutality, by wearing her name on their jerseys. Taylor was shot and killed by Louisville police while sleeping in her apartment. Players will be able to wear her name for the rest of the season if they choose.

The WNBA has engaged in a bubble plan similar to the NBA. They'll be playing at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, beginning with a game between the New York Liberty and Seattle Storm.
