The Chicago Sky have started the 2025 WNBA season 0-2 under new head coach Tyler Marsh. Their losses came at the hands of the Indiana Fever and New York Liberty, both of whom made the playoffs in 2024.

While the Sky have been looking to enter that tier of WNBA teams this season, their losses to both of those teams were non-competitive. Through two games, 2024 WNBA All-Star forward Angel Reese has converted on just five of her 22 field goal attempts.

This 22.7% mark is well-below the 39.1% she shot during her first year, when she earned All-Rookie honors.

The Sky traveled to play the Los Angeles Sparks on Sunday, who are just 1-3 through their first four contests. Los Angeles has been competitive against teams like the 4-0 Minnesota Lynx and 2-1 Phoenix Mercury.

Eight-year veteran guard Kelsey Plum has been off to a hot start for the Sparks, averaging 24.0 points, 5.0 assists and 3.0 steals per contest through four games. In the early going against the Sky, she blew past Angel Reese for an easy bucket, and the WNBA reacted to the move on social media.

"Plum Dawg starting early! ," the WNBA wrote.

Plum was a two-time WNBA champion with the Las Vegas Aces, the franchise she was drafted to in 2017. She was traded to the Sparks this offseason in a deal that also sent Jewell Loyd to the Aces and the No. 2 pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft to the Seattle Storm.

The Chicago Sky will only play the Sparks on three occasions this season, the next of which will come on June 24. Chicago is still looking to get its first win against the Sparks on Sunday.
