WNBA legend Diana Taurasi was recently asked to talk about Indiana Fever point guard Caitlin Clark and the Phoenix Mercury icon didn’t hold back.
Taurasi revealed that she and Clark are close friends. The three-time WNBA champion also said she’s a huge fan of how the Fever guard plays basketball.
“Me and Caitlin are really good friends,” Diana Taurasi said about Caitlin Clark. “We get along really well. We’ve had some great interactions. I just absolutely love what she does on the court, off the court. When I watch her play and the way she goes about her business, there’s a seriousness about it that I love.
“And, you know, she’s taking this game to new heights and it’s been amazing to watch and follow her. And, you know, it’s only gonna get better for our league and for Caitlin.”
When Clark suffered a left quad injury on May 24 and missed almost a month, WNBA TV ratings went down more than 50%.
Clark missed the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game in Indiana. Ticket prices and viewership went down after she announced she wouldn’t play.
A two-time All-Star, Clark is currently out with a right groin injury. The Iowa product has appeared in 13 games this season for the Fever. She’s averaging 16.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 8.8 assists while shooting 36.7% from the field, 27.9% from beyond the arc and 82.0% from the free-throw line.
The Fever are 17-12 on the season. They are fourth in the WNBA in points per game, sixth in points per game allowed, fourth in offensive rating, fifth in defensive rating and fourth in net rating.
Clark won the Rookie of the Year Award last season. She was the first pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft. The 23-year-old has career averages of 18.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 8.5 assists.
