Angel Reese recorded a perfect shooting game for the Atlanta Dream in their win against the Los Angeles Sparks on Thursday, and she made history in the process.
The 24-year-old forward finished with a near triple-double of 20 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists in the Dream’s 124-88 blowout victory over the Sparks. Making it even better, she shot 9-of-9 from the field, all while also recording three steals.
With her performance, Reese set a new Dream record for the most field goals without a miss in a game. She also broke her own single-season WNBA record for the most offensive rebounds in league history.
However, those are not the only milestones Reese achieved in the game. In a post on social media, the WNBA also announced that the Dream All-Star is just the third player ever to have a 20-point, 10-rebound game while shooting 100% from the field.
“Perfect from the field AND in elite company,” the WNBA wrote, along with a couple of videos showing Reese’s highlights from the game.
“Angel Reese finished with 20 PTS, 10 REB, 8 AST and 3 STL on 9-of-9 FG, becoming just the third player in WNBA history with 20+ PTS and 10+ REB on 100% from the field, joining Nneka Ogwumike (2016) and Tamika Raymond (2004).”
It was certainly a night to remember for Reese and the Dream, who improved to 23-13 on the season with the victory. They are fifth in the WNBA standings and are still very much in contention to finish in the top three of the standings.
