The WNBA was forever changed last season when rookie stars Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese took the floor for the Indiana Fever and Chicago Sky. A rivalry was formed between these two players during their years in college, but they captivated fans with their competitive nature and on-court prowess during their first professional seasons.

On the court, Clark and Reese both landed on the All-Rookie and All-Star teams, giving credence to the belief that these players were changing the game. They also made an incredible impact off the court, as both have become cultural centerpieces for women's basketball and brought new sets of eyes to the sport.

Their sophomore seasons are just around the corner, and fans have been chomping at the bit to watch these two play again. They got their first opportunity to do so last weekend, when the Fever and Sky each took on the Brazil National Team in a preseason exhibition matchup.

These games were the first of their kind, and the most unique part was that they took place in Clark and Reese's home college arenas. The Fever played in Carver-Hawkeye Arena on the University of Iowa Campus, and the Sky played at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center on LSU's campus.

The WNBA sent out a message on social media honoring these two for their contributions to the league and for being integral in organizing these contests.

Both the Fever and Sky coasted to victory against Brazil, which gave their college fans something to cheer about. After so much local support for these two women during their collegiate careers, it was impactful to see them give back to those same communities.

While these preseason tilts were certainly fun, things will get incredibly serious in just under two weeks. The WNBA regular season starts for the Sky on May 17, and they'll travel to Indiana and face the Fever for the first of five matchups this season. This will certainly be must-see TV on opening weekend.
