WNBA Reacts to Caitlin Clark’s Performance in Fever-Dream Game

The Indiana Fever wrapped up their preseason on a high, taking down the Atlanta Dream 81-76 on the road to finish a perfect 3-0. The game saw several standout performances, with the Dream giving fans a brief look at Brittney Griner, who hit a three in just two minutes of play, while Brionna Jones added 11 points. Despite her recent form, Rhyne Howard struggled from deep, going 2-for-11. But it was Indiana’s young stars, Caitlin Clark and Lexie Hull, who stole the show.

Clark, the Fever’s rookie phenom, continued to shine under the spotlight. In just 23 minutes, she racked up 13 points on 5-of-11 shooting, along with seven assists and six rebounds. Her court vision and ability to spread the floor were on full display.

However, emotions flared in the second quarter when Clark received her first technical of the preseason after protesting a no-call and throwing the ball against the stanchion, something the refs didn’t let slide. Thankfully, preseason techs don’t count toward the regular-season limit.

Lexie Hull emerged as the closer, pouring in 11 of her game-high 14 points in the fourth quarter. Her clutch shooting helped Indiana maintain their lead and seal the win. Hull also added five rebounds and four assists, making her presence felt on both ends.

The duo has become a key part of the Fever’s preseason success, with different players stepping up in each of the three games. The Dream will be taking up the Washington Mystics on May 16.

Clark, despite being the spotlight, is clearly fitting in well and building chemistry with her teammates. With the regular season tipping off May 17 against the Chicago Sky, fans can expect even more fireworks, especially with Clark and Hull leading the charge.
