The start of the WNBA season has displayed some incredible basketball, showcasing the top teams in contention to compete for a title.
Several weeks into the season, the New York Liberty and the Minnesota Lynx are the only two undefeated teams in the WNBA. The Lynx sit at 8-0 on the season, while the Liberty are 7-0.
Another team that has impressed early in the season is the Phoenix Mercury.
Despite revamping their roster and losing key contributors like Diana Taurasi, Brittney Griner and Sophie Cunningham, the Mercury sit at 5-3.
Amid their successful start to the season, sitting above .500, Phoenix was dealt an injury blow to the lineup.
On Thursday, the Mercury announced that WNBA rookie Megan McConnell will be out for 3-4 weeks with a right knee injury.

Megan McConnell sustained the injury in her WNBA debut, an 88-65 loss to the Minnesota Lynx.
During her debut with the Phoenix Mercury, before her injury, McConnell posted three points, one rebound and three assists in 13 minutes of game action.
Before her time with the Phoenix Mercury, McConnell made a name for herself with the Duquesne Dukes at the collegiate level.
During her five-year college basketball career at Duquesne, McConnell averaged 12.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game.
Megan McConnell is the sister of Indiana Pacers guard TJ McConnell, who is currently preparing for the NBA Finals.
TJ McConnell will prepare for his NBA Finals debut on Thursday, facing the Oklahoma City Thunder in the final series of the postseason.
