We can debate whether A'ja Wilson is truly the face of the WNBA, but there's no denying that she's the best player in the league. Coming off her fourth WNBA MVP award and third WNBA title, she's the best in the league and there isn't a close second.

Dominance on that level almost requires special recognition and Vanity Fair was more than happy to give it to her. In their latest issue, they put Wilson on the cover for an article entitled "A'ja Wilson Takes Flight." The photo on the cover was taken by Campbell Addy.

The interview itself highlighted some of Wilson's desires for the future, ranging from a career in Hollywood to marriage and family.

A Sensational Career

The accolades are well deserved for one of the WNBA's top players.

Wilson has established herself as one of the greatest players in women’s basketball history through her dominance with the Las Vegas Aces and South Carolina before that. At South Carolina, Wilson became a national champion, consensus national player of the year, and the school’s all-time leading scorer under coach Dawn Staley. She was selected first overall in the 2018 WNBA Draft and quickly transformed into the face of the Aces franchise with her scoring, rebounding, shot-blocking, and defensive versatility.

Her résumé now includes the aforementioned four WNBA MVP awards (2020, 2022, 2024, 2025), three WNBA championships (2022, 2023, 2025), two Finals MVP awards, and three Defensive Player of the Year honors. She is also a seven-time WNBA All-Star, multiple-time All-WNBA First Team selection, Olympic gold medalist with Team USA, and one of the most statistically dominant players in league history.

During the 2025 season, Wilson averaged 23.4 points, 10.2 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 2.3 blocks, and 1.6 steals per game, leading the Aces to another championship while becoming the first player ever to win four WNBA MVP awards.

And at 29 years of age, Wilson is primed to be the WNBA's top star for the rest of the decade and beyond.
