Atlanta Dream's veteran guard Jordin Canada sounded the alarms on Wednesday when she was taken to the locker room during a preseason game against the Washington Mystics.
Right after the game began, Canada was taken to the locker room with an apparent knee injury, which prompted the staff to rule her out for the rest of the matchup.
"INJURY UPDATE: Jordin Canada will not return to the game after a right leg injury sustained in the first quarter of this morning's game against Washington," the Dream's PR account announced shortly after.
With the 2025 WNBA season around the corner, losing a key player in Canada would be a major blow for the Dream.
The week hasn't been easy for Canada, who announced she was leaving X on Saturday after admitting she didn't feel comfortable with the current state of the app.
"X just not the place for me anymore, I need to delete this app off my phone. bye," she tweeted.
Her injury worsened the situation, as she is set to miss two weeks due to a right knee injury, per Underdog.
The Dream will close out their preseason on Saturday against the Caitlin Clark-led Indiana Fever at Gateway Center. Then, they'll tip off the campaign with two trips, first going against the Mystics (May 16) and then the Fever (May 20).
Canada would miss these two games, then the second against the Fever on May 22, then against the Dallas Wings on May 24 and a May 25 duel against the Connecticut Sun.
She could be back for the May 27 duel against the LA Sparks or at least nearing a return to the court.
The Dream have renewed expectations after a busy offseason, which included the addition of Brittney Griner, but missing Canada would be counterproductive.
