The 2025 WNBA All-Star Game is coming up on July 19, and Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark has been named one of the two captains alongside Minnesota Lynx forward Napheesa Collier.
Both were the top vote-getters in fan voting and will have the opportunity to draft their teams for the game. But fan voting only accounts for 50% of the total.
The remaining 50% is split evenly between WNBA players and media members. When the league announced the rest of the game’s starters on Monday, it also revealed where each player ranked in all three categories.
Interestingly enough, Clark, who broke the record for most fan votes ever with 1,293,526, was ranked as the ninth-best guard by her fellow WNBA players.
New York Liberty guard Natasha Cloud was ranked ahead of Clark in fourth, even though Clark is averaging more points, rebounds and assists per game. Cloud responded to a conversation about it on social media on Tuesday.
"My girl," Cloud posted after fired ESPN employee Jemele Hill called her arguably "the best free agent signing of the offseason."

The conversation began after Hill pointed out that Clark had missed nearly half the season so far with a pair of injuries, and that it wasn't anything personal from her fellow WNBA players. Instead, they took into account that she was injured and is averaging a league high "6 turnovers a game."
Then, a fan replied, saying, "They put Natasha Cloud over her. They’re most definitely hating."

Hill isn't wrong about the turnovers, with Clark averaging 5.9 per game. Regardless, the debate was between the reigning Rookie of the Year and Cloud.
Clark is averaging 18.2 points, 5.0 rebounds 8.9 assists per game to Cloud's 9.1 points, 3.8 rebounds and 6.5 assists per game.
