WNBA Team Announces Multiple Players in Danger of Missing Fever Game

On Wednesday, the Washington Mystics are set to play against the Indiana Fever for the first time in the 2025 WNBA season. However, the recent injury report submitted by the team hints that there's a chance a few players might miss the contest.

For the Mystics, the team listed Shakira Austin as questionable under the league's concussion protocol. On May 21, Wednesday, Austin had a head-on collision with Tiffany Hayes of the Golden State Valkyries. The four-year player for Washington was in a post-up position and accidentally bumped Hayes' head. Hayes was on the floor for a good amount of time, holding her head.

Since then, the former Maryland player has been on the sidelines for the Mystics. Austin has only played two games this season. If the team rules her out for their game against the Fever, it will be her third-straight missed game.

In the two games she's played, the 2022 All-Rookie member is averaging three points and 3.5 rebounds.

The other player Washington listed as out is rookie Georgia Amoore. Amoore has been ruled out of her first year in the WNBA because of a torn ACL.

For the Fever, their star point guard, Caitlin Clark, will not be available for the contest. Clark suffered a quad injury against the New York Liberty on Saturday. She's expected to miss at least two weeks of action because of her injury.

The former Iowa star set a record the last time she was at the Capital One Arena. Clark and the Fever suffered a 91-90 defeat against the Mystics on Sept. 19, 2024. A total of 20,711 fans attended the game to see the star player.
