The 2025 WNBA season is right around the corner, and teams are finalizing their rosters. Ahead of the start of the new campaign, the Connecticut Sun signed a former top 10 pick on Monday. According to the team, they've pursued Bria Hartley to a training camp contract.
While the Sun signed her to a deal, it still doesn't determine her fate in the league this season. With a training camp contract, there's a chance she might get waived before the start of the season.

Connecticut has 17 players on their roster and only 12 can stay on the team for the new campaign.
In 2014, Hartley was selected by the Seattle Storm with the seventh pick. However, the 5-foot-8 guard didn't play a game for the Storm since she was traded to the Washington Mystics before the start of her rookie campaign, where she earned a spot on the WNBA All-Rookie Team. She stayed with Washington for three seasons before she was traded to the New York Liberty.
Since then, Hartley has played for the Liberty, Phoenix Mercury, Indiana Fever and the Sun. However, she's been out of the league for the past two seasons and has spent more time playing overseas.
In college, the 32-year-old guard attended UConn from 2010 to 2014. Hartley was a big-time contributor during her four-year stay in college. During her senior year, her most productive college season, she averaged 16.2 points and 4.3 assists as the team's starter.
Hartley helped the team win the NCAA title in back-to-back seasons.
