The Atlanta Dream are off to a mixed start in the 2025 WNBA season, sitting at 2-2 after their recent 83-75 win over the Dallas Wings. While Allisha Gray has led the charge with standout performances, the Dream are facing major lineup concerns ahead of their clash with the Connecticut Sun on Saturday at Gateway Center Arena.

According to the official injury report, the Dream will be without two of their key guards Te-Hina Paopao and Jordin Canada. Paopao, the promising rookie, has been ruled out due to a facial injury sustained during the first quarter against the Wings.

She exited the game after just six minutes of play, going 0-for-2 from the field, and did not return.

It was a tough break for the guard, who had been averaging 24 minutes per game through her first three WNBA appearances, putting up 7 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 2.7 assists.

Jordin Canada will also remain sidelined with a right knee injury. The veteran point guard was hurt in a preseason win over the Washington Mystics and has been ruled out for at least two weeks. Canada had a strong 2024 campaign with the Dream, averaging 10.6 points, 5.8 assists, and 1.6 steals per game, and her absence leaves a significant hole in the backcourt.

With both Paopao and Canada out, Atlanta’s depth will be tested against a tough Sun squad. The Dream will need to rely on Allisha Gray, Haley Jones, and Aerial Powers to help manage the load.

The Sun are not at full strength either, as key players are nursing injuries. Both teams will be adjusting lineups as they battle for early momentum in the WNBA season.
