The 2025 WNBA preseason has come to a close, and teams are making final roster cuts as the regular season inches closer.

Since the 2024 WNBA Draft, where stars like Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark and Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese entered the league, WNBA popularity has soared to an all-time high.

The 2024 season set numerous records, including the most-watched WNBA regular season on ESPN platforms ever. It also set the single-game attendance record and had the highest total attendance in 22 years.

Some teams have done well taking advantage of this new spotlight, but others, such as the Los Angeles Sparks, have made some controversial decisions.

On Monday, a WNBA fan shared on Reddit an email from the Sparks, stating the team is refunding all "season tickets so they can sell them for more money."

"With interest in the WNBA growing at an accelerated pace, we are constantly analyzing and evaluating our business strategies and opportunities to enhance the fan experience," the email from Sparks senior vice president Jerry Murphy read. "To that end, we have determined that we need to make some adjustments, which will directly impact your account."

Murphy continued by writing that the refunds will be coming in roughly three weeks.

"We are working with our AXS ticketing partner to refund the full amount of your payment(s), directly to your original payment method. Refunds are typically processed within approximately 21 business days, depending on the credit card that was used for the purchase. All LA Sparks tickets are revocable licenses."

The Sparks finished the 2024 WNBA season with an 8-32 record, good for last place in the entire league. But the addition of Kelsey Plum, along with returning stars Cameron Brink (recovering from a torn ACL), Dearica Hamby and Rickea Jackson, could have them in playoff contention.
