WNBA Team Releases Former No. 1 College Basketball Recruit on Sunday

WNBA teams around the league have been making changes left and right, formulating their potential championship rosters. 

The New York Liberty and the Minnesota Lynx sit atop the WNBA standings. New York is the No. 1 team in the Eastern Conference with an 8-0 record, while the Lynx are listed at No. 1 in the Western Conference with an 8-0 record. 

Another team that has had a quietly successful season, despite a grueling schedule, having recently played nine games in less than 20 days, is the Phoenix Mercury. 

Phoenix sits at 6-4, ranked as the No. 2 team in the Western Conference and the No. 4 team in the WNBA standings. 

As the Mercury continue their trek, they announced the recent release of Haley Jones, who joined the team at the beginning of the season. 

"The Phoenix Mercury have waived guard/forward Haley Jones, the team announced today," posted the official social media account of the Phoenix Mercury.
