The WNBA is set to fine Skylar Diggins after her third technical foul of the season. She committed it during the game between the Chicago Sky and Las Vegas Aces on Sunday.

Diggins was whistled for a tech at the 5:38 mark of the second quarter. Aces star Chelsea Gray knocked down the technical free throw to put Las Vegas ahead, 47-38.

The league fines players $500 for each of their first three technical fouls of the season. It increases to $1,000 for the fourth to seventh, so the Sky guard needs to be more careful moving forward. Any technical found beyond that will result in a $1,500 fine and a one-game suspension.

The defeat was a double black eye for Diggins as her team lost 107-99. The loss snapped Chicago's two-game winning streak.

Skylar Diggins, Sky fall short against Aces

Diggins finished with seven points, six rebounds and five assists. While the numbers are decent, she struggled from the field, converting just 2-of-11 shots, including 2-of-5 from beyond the arc.

Azura Stevens and Kamilla Cardoso combined for 48 points, 14 rebounds and five assists, while Sydney Taylor and Elizabeth Williams contributed 14 and 10, respectively.

However, the Aces were too much to handle for them. A'ja Wilson was unstoppable, recording 30 points, 15 rebounds, four steals and three blocks. Jackie Young backed her with 28 points, five rebounds and eight assists.

Diggins and the Sky will embark on a three-game road trip starting on Friday against the Aces again. They will then face the Phoenix Mercury on July 7 and the Los Angeles Sparks three days later. Chicago sits 13th in the standings with a 6-13 record.
