The WNBA 2024 season was a rollercoaster for Angel Reese, but even with the bumps, it was a successful ride. Battling through a hand injury, the Chicago Sky star still made major noise in her rookie year and is now locked in for an even bigger sophomore season.

As training camp kicked off Sunday, Reese took to X to share her excitement, posting, “Year 2… Day 1 Let’s do it!” It’s clear the “Chi-Town Barbie” is ready to level up.

Drafted seventh overall by the Sky last year, Reese quickly proved she belonged, leading the entire league in rebounds per game. While she faced some growing pains on the offensive end, she soaked up every lesson and now looks poised to take another big leap in 2025.

Even during the offseason, Reese stayed locked in. She laced up for Rose Basketball Club in the Unrivaled league, averaging a strong double-double of 13.3 points and 12.1 rebounds per game. More importantly, she’s been learning under the guidance of WNBA legend Lisa Leslie and veterans like Kahleah Copper and Chelsea Gray — a mentorship that’s clearly shaping her game and her mindset.

Angel Reese attributes success to her OWN self

Angel Reese has always been about self-belief, and she’s not letting the outside noise get to her.

From her college days to her rookie year, Reese has been in the spotlight, dealing with plenty of support but also her share of critics. But she’s learned one major life hack: tune it all out.

In a message posted Thursday on X, Reese made it clear she’s focused on her journey.

“y’all be feeling too entitled thinking y’all opinions matter about somebody else’s life instead of minding your own business,” she wrote. “I promise you win at life when you just live your OWN life and mind your OWN business. I PROMISE.

Coming from humble beginnings, raised by a single mom, Reese knows firsthand that nothing comes easy. She’s had to grind for every success, and now, she’s thriving on the biggest stage in women’s basketball.

With her mindset sharper than ever and her game on the rise, Angel Reese is proving that she’s here to stay — and the best is still yet to come.
