3 WWE Titles that DESERVED a Wrestlepalooza Spotlight

WWE Wrestlepalooza 2025 boasts a stacked card with five matches to entertain fans. As of this writing, the company has confirmed two title matches for the event. Cody Rhodes will defend his Undisputed WWE Championship against Drew McIntyre, while Stephanie Vaquer and Iyo Sky will compete to become the new Women’s World Champion. However, other talented wrestlers and champions deserved a moment at Wrestlepalooza but may have missed their opportunity.

Sami Zayn Should Have Defended His WWE United States Championship at Wrestlepalooza

Sami Zayn won the United States Championship from Solo Sikoa during the August 29, 2025, episode of SmackDown. He then initiated an open challenge and successfully retained the title against John Cena in a no-contest and Rey Fenix in a clean victory. Zayn is scheduled to defend his title against Carmelo Hayes on this week’s SmackDown, but this match could have been shifted to Wrestlepalooza.

Doing so would have given both the title and the performers an opportunity to showcase their talent at the premium live event. Nick Aldis and the creative team need to make better decisions, as this oversight diminishes the value of the title and the performer.

Giulia Should Have Defended Her WWE Women’s United States Championship at Wrestlepalooza

Giulia won the Women’s United States Championship on the June 27, 2025, episode of SmackDown by defeating Zelina Vega. She has since defended her title twice on SmackDown, defeating Vega and Michin on separate occasions. However, her match against B-Fab last week on the blue brand did not take place. Giulia, known as The Beautiful Madness, could have showcased her skills by facing either Michin or B-Fab at Wrestlepalooza, adding excitement by defending her title at the event.

The company missed this opportunity, and it remains to be seen if they will redeem it on the go-home episode of SmackDown before the premium live event.

Dominik Mysterio Could Have Defended His WWE Intercontinental Championship Against AJ Styles

AJ Styles has failed to capture the Intercontinental Championship from Dominik Mysterio on two occasions: at SummerSlam 2025 and the September 1, 2025, episode of Raw. These losses provided the perfect motivation for Styles to challenge for the title a third time at Wrestlepalooza.

With Dominik now holding both the Intercontinental Championship and the AAA Mega Championship, which he won by defeating El Hijo del Vikingo at AAA x WWE Worlds Collide 2025: Las Vegas, the match would have been an ideal opportunity to showcase Mysterio’s resilience as a double champion. Additionally, a storyline involving El Hijo del Vikingo potentially interfering to cost Mysterio the title could have added intrigue. WWE missed this opportunity, and there is little chance to fix it right now.
