4 Potential Finishes for CM Punk Vs. Finn Balor at Elimination Chamber
Credit: WWE

This Saturday, CM Punk faces his last major obstacle on the Road to WrestleMania in his hometown, Chicago. Punk will put the World Heavyweight Championship on the line against a motivated Finn Balor at Elimination Chamber.

A few months ago, the outcome of this match would have been a foregone conclusion. However, the build has been pretty compelling as both men have felt like equals with everything to lose. Furthermore, Triple H is known to pull unusual swerves on the Road to Mania. Nonetheless, here are four potential finishes for CM Punk vs. Finn Balor at Elimination Chamber.

#4. CM Punk Goes Over Clean at Elimination Chamber

WWE has a blockbuster dream match between CM Punk and Roman Reigns scheduled as the main event of WrestleMania 42. Given the appeal and allure of this bout, Triple H is unlikely to deviate from Punk vs. Reigns, which would feel more appropriate with a World Title on the line.

Hence, the most likely outcome will see Punk go over clean in his hometown. The Straight Edge already accomplished the same feat on RAW in Ireland last month. Considering the talent shared between the two stars, the match would be spectacular. Balor has been compelling in his role as a credible challenger, but he is likely just another obstacle on Punk’s path to the Show of Shows.

#2. The Judgment Day’s Interference Costs Finn Balor the Match

The Punk-Balor saga has focused extensively on the Prince’s reliance on the Judgment Day. The World Heavyweight Champion believes that Balor is being held back by his friends. JD McDonagh and Dominik Mysterio want to help the Prince, but a proud Balor wants to deal with Punk himself.

Fans can expect this angle to play out further at Elimination Chamber. The Judgment Day could interfere in the World Heavyweight Championship this weekend. However, this interference would backfire as the drama would allow Punk to take advantage and pin Balor.

WWE has been teasing a Judgment Day implosion for quite some time. The seeds were planted a long time ago, and tensions could escalate when McDonagh and Dom cost Balor the World Heavyweight Championship.

#2. Roman Reigns Interferes and Lays Out Both Men

If WWE wants to make things extra intriguing, they could attempt to book a Triple Threat for the World Heavyweight Championship. Triple H loves booking Triple Threats and mixing things up. Thus, it’s possible that CM Punk vs. Roman Reigns doesn’t end up happening.

Although WWE has announced the OTC1’s Road to WrestleMania schedule, the 2026 Men’s Royal Rumble could pay his Mania opponent a special visit at Elimination Chamber in Chicago. Reigns could interfere in the World Heavyweight Title match and lay both men out. This would plant the seeds for a colossal Triple Threat at the Show of Shows.

#1. Finn Balor Does the Unthinkable and Dethrones CM Punk

Very few expect Finn Balor to win the World Heavyweight Title at Elimination Chamber. However, we are on the Road to WrestleMania, and almost anything crazy can and will happen at this time of the year. Last year, the WWE Universe saw John Cena turn heel in a massive twist that no one saw coming.

Hunter could throw another swerve by crowning a new World Heavyweight Champion in Chicago. Punk defeated Balor in his hometown of Belfast, and the Prince could return the favor at Elimination Chamber. Nonetheless, Balor defeating Punk is extremely unlikely, and would not make much sense if WWE doesn’t have a legitimate direction set in stone.
