Amid the ongoing King of the Ring tournament, Lillian Garcia appeared on last night’s edition of Raw. Samantha Irvin stood in the ring as she revealed that the veteran would announce the next match. Garcia happily obliged, reverting to her duties for one night. Before doing so, she expressed her gratitude to the WWE Universe and endorsed Irvin.

The 57-year-old heaped praise on the Raw ring announcer’s work, claiming that she was doing an “incredible” job. Seconds later, Lillian Garcia went on to introduce Kofi Kingston for his King of the Ring quarterfinal. The New Day member squared off against Gunther after defeating Rey Mysterio at this weekend’s live event. However, he fell short in his quest for revenge against The Ring General, who made him tap out.

Prior to the show, Garcia confirmed via her social media accounts that she was in town for Raw. In 2016, she departed WWE after working with the promotion for almost two decades. Since then, the legend has made sporadic appearances on television. Samantha Irvin took to her X account, reacting to the special night by wishing the veteran a happy Mother’s Day.

As Garcia mentioned, the 35-year-old has seamlessly filled the veteran’s shoes. In her tenure, Irvin’s professionalism has received praise from the WWE Universe and critics alike. Needless to say, her emotional connection with the sport has also provided a lot of wonderful moments in the past few years.

What else transpired on the latest episode of Raw?

As expected, last night’s edition of Raw was centered around the ongoing King of the Ring tournament. After Gunther took one step further to become this year’s winner, Jey Uso will pose as his opponent for next week’s semi-finals. Meanwhile, Iyo Sky fended off Shayna Baszler and will meet Lyra Valkyria, who continued to impress on the main roster.

Tensions continued to escalate between The Alpha Academy members. Chad Gable slapped Otis after the latter disobeyed his orders and lost against Sami Zayn . Similarly, Becky Lynch and Liv Morgan engaged in a back-and-forth physical confrontation, with the #1 contender standing tall.

The Judgment Day received another opportunity at the World Tag Team Championships after emerging victorious in a fatal-four way tag match. However, the win wouldn’t have been possible without the help of Carlito.
