A Match Made in Puroresu Paradise: NJPW’s Shingo Takagi and STARDOM’s Natsupoi Get Married

Congratulations are in order for two of Japanese wrestling’s biggest talents. NJPW’s Shingo Takagi and STARDOM’s Natsupoi have announced their marriage, bringing in the new year in style.

Tokyo Sports shared the joyous news of Takagi and Natsupoi, who have been dating since May 2024. Their relationship’s beginnings can be traced back to STARDOM’s Yamanashi Tournament that month, which featured a guest appearance from Takagi.

Natsupoi reminisced over her first meeting with Takagi at the event, stating, “At that moment, I felt a ‘beep.’ I guess this is what they call fate,” she laughed. “I wanted to get to know him better, so I made a bold move. I asked for his contact information and called him. It was the first time in my life I’d ever done that! But Takagi-san was incredibly insensitive.”

When quizzed about their relationship, Takagi seemed to already be looking ahead to their future together: “I would like to have children someday. I want them to be able to see me during my active career. Thinking about that makes me want to build a bright and happy family.”

When you think of star couples in professional wrestling, most fans’ minds will naturally turn to the likes of Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch, CM Punk and AJ Lee, or possibly even Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella. But the fresh union of Shingo Takagi and Natsupoi may just have the same effect throughout the Puroresu landscape.

Takagi is a former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion and a former member of the successful Los Ingobernables de Japon stable. The future looks exciting for Takagi, who has merged his faction with the remaining Bullet Club War Dogs to form a brand new faction, Unbound Co.

Natsupoi remains one of the most prominent talents in STARDOM, currently co-leading the Cosmic Angels stable alongside Saori Anou. She is a seven-time champion in STARDOM, with the Wonder of STARDOM Championship the highlight among her many achievements.
