Less than an hour after Kenny Omega made his surprise return Saturday, former TNT Champion Adam Copeland followed suit at AEW Worlds End.
After Jon Moxley’s successful World title defense to close the show, Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta were set to continue the attack on Jay White with a chair when FTR’s music hit. They walked down the ramp, followed by a ‘Rated FTR’ logo appearing on the big screen and then Copeland himself.
FTR took out Yuta and Castagnoli, leaving Copeland to go face-to-face with Moxley. Copeland hit a spear and broke off a piece of the chair, using it to crank a crossface on the champion before Castagnoli pulled Moxley out of the ring.
Copeland then grabbed a microphone to address the scurrying Death Riders, saying they were all his and that Rated FTR was “taking it all.” A few seconds later, it was announced that Rated FTR will take on Moxley, Castagnoli and Yuta this Wednesday as part of the Fight for the Fallen edition of Dynamite — the first time ever that Copeland and Moxley have shared the ring.
Copeland had to relinquish the TNT title after this past May’s Double or Nothing when he fractured his tibia in a barbed wire cage match with Malakai Black, followed by surgery in July. A report came out in November that he was cleared for physicality with him later saying he was ready to “get back at it.”
