  • AEW Revolution featured exciting matches like Toni Storm vs. Mariah May, Kyle Fletcher vs. Will Ospreay, and Konosuke Takeshita vs. Kenny Omega.
  • Christian Cage tried to interrupt the main event, cashing in his title shot, but Moxley retained the AEW World Championship.
  • Swerve Strickland won the number one contendership for the AEW World Championship by defeating Ricochet.

AEW Revolution 2025 has concluded and left many fans talking about spectacular matches like Toni Storm vs. Mariah May, Konosuke Takeshita vs. Kenny Omega, and Kyle Fletcher vs. Will Ospreay. The main event, however, would see Jon Moxley putting his AEW World Championship on the line against Cope, in a match that many fans weren't too excited about.

Much of that is due to the way that the Death Riders storyline has played out, with many feeling like it is dragging on and either needs a major change or should come to an end sooner rather than later. Well, Revolution threw some new things in the mix somewhat for this story, so let's talk about what went down.

Christian Cage Cashes In Title Opportunity

Tonight's main event was planned to be Jon Moxley vs. Cope, but Christian Cage would try and change things when he cashed in the AEW World Championship contract he earned back at All In 2024. He waited to do so after Wheeler Yuta and Jay White both made interferences, with White accidentally knocking Cope out with Moxley's briefcase. This would make the match a three-way bout, and Christian made multiple attempts to pin Cope to capture the AEW World title.

Moxley would put a stop to that as he would choke out Christian, securing the victory and retaining his title once again. Online reception to the main event isn't great, mostly compared to the rest of the card, which left many fans praising the company.

Moxley's Next Challenger Confirmed

Earlier in the night, Swerve Strickland and Ricochet faced off against each other, but now with the number one contendership for the AEW World Championship on the line. That match would not only see Swerve pick up the win, but also regain Jimmy Rave's robe that has been a major part of this feud.

After Moxley retained his title, he would be confronted by Prince Nana, making the point that Swerve was next in line for a title match, before Swerve came out of the crowd and hit Moxley with a Swerve Stomp to close out the show.
