AEW Collision Preview (5/31/25) – Eliminators & Qualifiers
AEW

AEW Dynamite was once again filled with bangers and build for All In, now it’s time for more action and further developments with this week’s episode of AEW Collision. With six contests at the time of writing, the Saturday show serves up another potluck of potential future conflicts and big moments.

Plenty of stars were missing on Wednesday. For example, Kazuchika Okada defends his AEW Continental Championship against Anthony Bowens. Will Kenny Omega appear to properly kick-start a potential dream fifth contest between the historic rivals?

Skye Blue is seeking revenge against Mina Shirakawa. Could there be a hint or tease that Mariah May could return from “vacation”?

Some events have bled over from Wednesday as the Paragon and Don Callis Family collide. Some stationary stories could be picked up again.

After Rush and La Faccion Ingobernable battle Top Flight and AR Fox, could Kevin Knight, Speedball Mike Bailey, and/or Hologram pick up their threads? It would be nice to see stronger and more diverse lucha representation.

Word of the night is potential. There’s a lot of that on offer Saturday and beyond.

Ma, tell me when the boys get here!

AEW Collision Matches Announced:

  • AEW Continental Championship Eliminator Match: Kazuchika Okada vs. Anthony Bowens
  • Don Callis Family vs. Paragon and Tomohiro Ishi
  • La Faccion Ingobernablevs. Top Flight and AR Fox
  • Skye Blue vs. Mina Shirakawa
  • AEW International Championship 4-Way Qualifier: Claudio Castagnoli vs. Kommander
  • AEW International Championship 4-Way Qualifier: Hechicero vs. Mascara Dorada

TNT Championship Drama Spills Over to Collision

Things have escalated quickly between Paragon and the Don Callis Family. A victory at Double or Nothing in trios action led to Wednesday’s TNT Championship defence. It looked like Cole was ready to defeat Kyle Fletcher.

Then Josh Alexander played disruptor. Post-match, a frustrated Fletcher was attacked by Cole. Less than a week into this feud, and it’s already heated.

Spilling into faction warfare, this trio’s match is one of several future matchups between the group. Trent Barretta and Rocky Romero, the newly reformed Roppongi Vice, have had a hot start to their reunion.

Pairing them with Kyle O’Reilly and Roderick Strong offers a lot of frenetic joy. An impressive time in the past, and now, I’m all up for seeing what happens if they hit their jackal driver team finisher on The Stone Pitbull.

Another story being revisited here is Rocky Romero’s betrayal of former Conglomeration teammate and fellow NJPW star Tomihiro Ishi. Will Ishi get revenge?

It’s not just the match that’s going to be exciting. Like Wednesday, this won’t be contained between bells. At least one rematch is coming.

AEW International Championship 4-Way Matches

Two big qualifiers will see a possible preview for AEW Grand Slam Mexico and a callback to the Miracle of 31st Street. After his first appearance on AEW programming, Hechicero, The Alchemist of the Ring, remains a delight to watch. The technical rudo faces former Grand Metalik.

One word to describe this match: smooth. We’ve seen luchadore action on AEW before, but not perhaps like this. Mascara Dorada is an incredible high-flyer.

Gliding between moves and aerial assaults, against the submission wizardry of Hechicero, well… Just when you think you know how the magic trick’s done, think again.

When Claudio Castagnoli faces Kommander again, will lightning strike twice? Could Kommander get another upset victory?

Or, after the big loss at Double or Nothing, is Castagnoli going to butcher the high-flyer, giving him no space to breathe? The fantasy booker in me wonders if Darby Allin could return once again for the assist.
