AEW Dynamite 300 Results (7/2/25) – Dynamite 300
AEW

Welcome to our live recap of tonight’s AEW Dynamite 300 results.

AEW Dynamite 300 airs live from the Toyota Arena in Ontario, CA, tonight. 300 episodes in, and AEW Dynamite shows no signs of stopping! Tonight’s proceedings feature match-ups worthy of the milestone. Mercedes Mone puts her title on the line against Mina Shirakawa, in a rematch from 2025’s Wrestle Dynasty and NJPW Resurgence. I expect “Timeless” Toni Storm to either make a run in or cut an innuendo-laced promo. The Hurt Syndicate’s MJF aspires for a Number 2 spot in the Casino Gauntlet match at All In Texas against the likes of Brody King, Anthony Bowens, and AR Fox. Kota Ibushi faces the AEW Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada for the first time since NJPW’s 2021 G1 Climax. Since Kenny Omega is engaged in a feud with Okada at All In Texas, a Golden Lovers reunion is likely.

AEW Dynamite 300 Card:

  • TBS Championship: Mercedes Mone versus Mina Shirakawa
  • 4-Way for Number 2 spot in the Casino Gauntlet at All In Texas: Brody King versus MJF versus Anthony Bowens versus AR Fox
  • Swerve Strickland and Will Ospreay versus Dralistico and The Beast Mortos
  • Kota Ibushi versus Kazuchika Okada
  • Paragon (Roderick Strong & Kyle O’Reilly) and Bandido versus Konosuke Takeshita and the Young Bucks (Nicholas Jackson & Matthew Jackson)
  • and more!

Hangman Page in-ring promo

A red-faced, passionate Page stressed how much the AEW Men’s World Championship match at All In means to him. He then challenged Moxley to make their match a Texas Death match. The crowd chanted “Bald!” at Moxley, but he shook it off. He then told Page that he would not survive a Texas Death Match. The pair then exchanged fisticuffs. Page pulled out a stainless steel fork, ready to stab Moxley. Wheeler Yuta and Marina Shafir interrupted, with the latter repeatedly slapping him. Claudio Castagnoli returned to no ovation to join Yuta, as Shafir and Moxley shirked away.

Castagnoli and Yuta stripped Page off his shirt and attacked him some more. Unfortunately for them, this did little because he got back up and mocked Castagnoli, who threw chairs around and marched to the ring. Samoa Joe headed off Castagnoli. Katsuyori Shibata and Powerhouse Hobbs joined his side. Shafir returned to swing the briefcase at Page’s skull, but he stopped it. Baiting Moxley in, The Opps intimidated the champion. Moxley finally accepted Page’s stipulation. Before he left, Page let Moxley know that he was lying, saying Page wouldn’t be ready for a Texas Death Match, and to show he had what it would take, he threw a Buckshot Lariat at Shafir.

I’m feeling like I’m watching what Magnum TA versus the Four Horsemen to completion had he not been injured. I think Page is the final one for Moxley. If not, there is nothing that could top the moment that is Page’s chase.

Mercedes Mone defeated Mina Shirakawa (with “Timeless” Toni Storm) for the TBS Championship

A Superman vignette featuring Storm and Rachael Brosnahan (who plays Lois Lane) preceded the champion’s walk to the commentary table. She had cake, steak, and water by her.

Shirakawa barreled into Mone with a flurry of strikes. She then tossed Mone around before dancing all flashy. Meteora by Mone dropped Shirakawa to the outside, mocking her and Storm as she regained momentum. A figure-four on the ring post nearly took Mone out, but a Statement Maker by the CEO reversed it. The champion landed another Meteora on the outside, but the figure-four from earlier wore on her knee. Shirakawa grinned as she ate forearms by Mone, yet a double-knee in the corner dazed her.

The weakest link, Mone’s knee, fell victim to slams on the mat and another figure-four leglock. Leaping Slinglade teetered the match in Shirakawa’s favor, but couldn’t finish Mone. Two Rolling Elbows and a Roundkick tormented the champion, as did a Glorious Driver to a heart-stopping near-count. A Shining Wizard dizzied the CEO further. Bankrupt decimated Shirakawa for the in.

Post-match, Mone assaulted Shirakawa further. She then proceeded to strike Storm from behind with her TBS Championship.

Mone and Shirakawa have excellent chemistry. No matter where they go, they just mesh well.

Young Bucks segment

Outside the arena, Nicholas and Matthew Jackson entered a limousine stocked with fancy Nike shoes. They then ran rampant all over their hometown of Rancho Cucamonga, California.

MJF defeated Brody King, Anthony Bowens, and AR Fox

MJF tried to curry King’s favor with a stack of cash, but the behemoth tossed it down. MJF darted behind the commentary table. Fox and Bowens tailed after him, but Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin cut them off. King, satisfied with taking anyone out, broke down the pair with Flying Crossbodies. MJF joined the commentary table, while Fox exhausted King in the corner. Tope Suicida by King knocked Fox and Bowens back. MJF gathered his equally-sized opponents into the ring, leaving King.

Bowens and Fox returned to teamwork, kicking and striking at MJF and King. The latter introduced them to the mat with a Double Lariat. Bowens threw MJF into King’s arms before using a Sunset Flip to put each of them out of the equation. Fox used his ingenuity to send MJF into Bowens and take out each man. King combined his size with a quickly gained momentum to drop everyone. MJF sought to swing a chair onto King, but instead was thrown into a stacked Fox and Bowens in the corner. King cannonballed himself into all three. Fox nearly defeated King with a 450 Splash. Hammerlock DDT to Bowens inched MJF closer, but instead found himself choked on the apron by King.

Gonzo Bomb by King put him within seconds of victory over Bowens. Fox hoped to break this up, but ended up tapping to MJF’s armbar.

Post-match, Mark Briscoe called out MJF for calling him an expletive a week prior. JetSpeed (“Speedball” Mike Bailey and Kevin Knight) confronted Lashley and Benjamin but were disposed of quickly. Several times.

Thrilling 4-way. Everyone lived up to their strengths properly. King was the overwhelming force, MJF  the calculating and manipulative heel. All-rounders Fox and Bowens having to work together sporadically, added that extra layer. Bowens needs to shuffle the toolbox with his 5-Tool Player gimmick, because it’s hard to connect.

The Young Bucks (Nicholas & Matthew Jackson) & Konosuke Takeshita defeated Bandido & Paragon (Kyle O’Reilly & Roderick Strong)

Bandido and Takeshita had a high-octane start, only for the former to be struck by both Jacksons. Paragon weakened the Bucks with their combined offense. Strong flung everyone around with his strength, going so far as to land Matthew onto Takeshita. Bandido dropped Matthew with a Single-Hand Slam, then ate a Blue Thunderbomb via Takeshita. Paragon and Bandido flipped the other team over the top rope with suplexes, but couldn’t put Takeshita and the Bucks away. Takeshita and the Bucks united with a Superkick + German Suplex combo onto Bandido, which was broken by Paragon.

O’Reilly trapped Takeshita with a Guillotine, just to suffer superkicks and a knockout blow. A three-way EVP Trigger dazed him. Takeshita finished him with a Raging Fire.

Post-match, Will Ospreay & Swerve Strickland slid into the ring to beat up the Bucks. Strickland urged the Bucks to accept their stipulation at All In Texas. He elaborated that the EVP title should go to the fans and Tony Khan. The brothers still refused. Ospreay offered one final ultimatum: if he and Strickland lose, they can’t challenge for the AEW Men’s World Championship at All In. He hesitated, but obliged, visibly bitter at Ospreay. They argued at length.

PWG-pilled trios match and it delivered. Moreover, Bandido and the Young Bucks colliding in an almost-rematch from the first All In in 2018. Takeshita got a huge pop when he came out and got some of the loudest reactions.

Superman tie-in

David Corenswet (Clark Kent/Superman) held Kenny Omega’s International Championship while the latter wore a cape. Nicholas Hoult (Lex Luthor) and MJF sneered at this and instantly warmed to each other.

Swerve Strickland & Will Ospreay defeated The Beast Mortos & Dralistico

Continuing their bickering, Strickland and Ospreay were quickly overwhelmed as the LFI members charged into the ring. Mortos left the quarrelling partners horizontal after a dive to the outside. Ospreay used his acrobatic and aerial maneuvering to twirl Mortos and Dralistico to the outside. A springboard elbow softened Mortos. Mortos tossed himself at Ospreay, giving Dralistico a chance for a pin. Swerve Stomp + Stormbreaker combination equalized Mortos, isolating Dralistico for a Styles Clash + House Call for the win.

All the years of knowing each other and wrestling together cement the chemistry with Strickland and Ospreay. They were glorious here, and they worked well off of Dralistico and Mortos. Mortos, in particular, looks like Lord Zedd and Skeletor combined forces to create a new monster in a Power Rangers/He-Man crossover.

Kazuchika Okada versus Kota Ibushi

Okada teased Ibushi and kept his distance on the outside. The bullying continued until Ibushi struck back with strikes and a flying knee to Okada’s midsection. Ibushi kept up the momentum with kicks, followed by a frenzy of strikes and more kicks. Okada gained control with a hold, followed by an Elbow Drop. He aimed for a Rainmaker, but Ibushi scrambled out of it. Down on the corner, Ibushi lay, eyes glazed over.

Okada bullied Ibushi further, leading to him rising and no-selling. He forced Okada into the corner, tenderizing him with strikes before dropping him disastrously with a thunderous lariat. Sneaking out of it, Okada hit Ibushi with a suplex. Avalanche Tiger Driver by Ibushi gained a massive pop with a close nearfall. Baiting Ibushi for a lariat, he followed with a dropkick. Capitalizing on his wrist control, Okada obliterated Ibushi with a Rainmaker lariat.

Post-match, Kenny Omega rampaged into the ring, driving away the Don Callis Family. Trent Beretta tried to subdue Omega with a baton, but he and Ibushi trounced his attempt.  They embraced to close out the show.

A condensed NJPW main event in a weekly AEW televised special. It doesn’t get any better than this.

Closing thoughts

Now, this was an elite special episode. Honestly, this could’ve been a go-home show. The trios match was fantastic. Swerve and Ospreay look like a million bucks (pun intended). Shirakawa’s a stellar little piece to the Toni Storm and Mercedes Mone feud. That 4-way was fun and unique, where instead of everyone focusing on their own separate strength, two people had to work together and against each other amid a conniver and a powerhouse.

As for Hangman Page, this honestly has to be it for Moxley’s reign. He surpassed Swerve Strickland as someone who could feasibly and believably take the gold, and that’s not factoring in the popularity. Moreover, he and Strickland have sunk to their levels before. I still stand by Page evoking the same feeling I get each time I watch Magnum TA and Tully Blanchard’s Steel Cage “I Quit” match. If this isn’t it, the AEW Men’s World Championship match at All In could very well be a fumble.
