AEW Dynamite/Collision Results from AEW Dynamite/Collision Tonight (12/17/25)

Jon Moxley defeated Roderick Strong

Strong and Moxley locked up immediately at the bell. Moxley maintained dominant wrist control. Strong attempted an Ankle Lock to no avail. The pair exchanged chops, but the superior striker Strong kept the Death Rider in his paces. They bartered elbow strikes, each one thudding louder than the other. An incensed Strong brawled with Moxley in the crowd before tossing him across the barricade to the ringside. Moxley eked out some momentum with an elbow suicida that rattled each man.

Moxley sought a Gotch-style Piledriver, which Strong seesawed to fling him outside the ring. Strong maintained his comeback with several slams onto the mat. Moxley’s spine recoiled following Strong dropping onto its unforgiving steel. On the top rope, Strong raked Moxley’s back before unleashing an Avalanche Superplex. A Piledriver courtesy of Moxley rendered Strong tender on the mat. Locking in a rear-naked choke, Moxley was inches from victory, but Strong rolled to a rope break. One devastating Death Rider from Moxley crushed Strong on the head, giving Moxley the pinfall victory.

(Excellent hard-hitting match. About as gnarly as anyone can ask for with men of this intensity. Strong convinced me several steps of the way that this was his game.)

Eddie Kingston Moved on From Samoa Joe

Acknowledging his defeat from Joe on the Winter is Coming episode of Dynamite on December 10, Kingston said he’d be on AEW Collision.

The Elite (Kenny Omega, Matt Jackson, & Nick Jackson) defeated Don Callis Family (Konosuke Takeshita, Kazuchika Okada, & Hechicero)

Takeshita ensnared Omega in a headlock, but he escaped and caught the Alpha with an arm drag. Matt and Nick sent Takeshita and Okada down with dropkicks. Omega wrecked Takeshita with a backbreaker, setting Nick up for a top rope leg drop. Nick escaped the clutches of Hechicero, rebounding for Omega to faceplant the luchador. Takeshita attempted to align with Okada for a double-suplex to Omega, but the Rainmaker refused his assistance, so Hechicero stepped in instead. Hechicero drove his shoulder into Omega’s midsection. Omega regained momentum with a hurricanrana. Omega stumbled after setting Matt up with a slam on Takeshita.

The Elite emulated Omega’s Terminator Dive to eradicate the Don Callis Family. Hechicero spun Matt around in circles in a Hammerlock Swing. Okada isolated Matt from Omega and Nick, which resulted in the latter dropping Takeshita with a Stunner. Kasadora + Bulldog from Nick gifted him an escape from the pursuing Okada. Briefly, Okada and Takeshita worked together, but Nick used his legs to plant Okada. Nick and Matt coordinated for a unified Splash on Takeshita. Hecicero dominated Nick with some quick holds. Canadian Destroyer via Nick begat a comeback.

Okada demanded Nick tag in Omega to massive applause from the Manchester crowd. Omega ducked a Rainmaker Lariat, propelling Okada into Nick’s Superkick. Matt superceded Hechicero but suffered a Blue Thunderbomb from Takeshita. Takeshita blasted Nick with a German Suplex and a Power Drive. Takeshita accidentally struck Okada with his knee. Omega whirled each of the Don Callis Family with Snapdragon Suplexes. The trio hit a BTE Trigger on Hechicero, setting him up for a V-Trigger and One-Winged Angel, assisted by the Jacksons.

Post-match: Okada and Takeshita took turns assaulting the Young Bucks. They teased a fight, but Don Callis broke it up. Omega returned with the money and a broom, quickly chasing off the dastardly group.

(Enthralling trio match, I’d say. The nostalgia trip that is The Elite mixed well with the interpersonal drama of the Don Callis Family.)

AEW Contract Signing: Samoa Joe, Hangman Adam Page, Swerve Strickland

Tony Schiavone began the segment by mentioning why everyone was there. Joe wasn’t having it and told him he’s tired of his “big yapper.” He then explained why his fellow Opps accompanied him, so that nobody would “try something stupid.” Strickland professed that he and Page have mutual respect, but Strickland didn’t share it for Joe. He punctuated his segment by telling Joe how badly he would beat him at Worlds End. Strickland even mentioned Joe’s fake tattoo from 2007. Page recalled the alliance The Opps had with him during the summer’s Death Riders feud. He added that both Strickland and Joe could have easily dethroned Moxley’s earlier Men’s World Championship reign had they worked alongside him.

Furthermore, Page posited that Joe turned into what he once stood against, forfeiting his dignity. An impassioned Page continued that he would’ve defended the belts against anyone had Joe not won dirty. Shifting to Strickland, Page had expected Strickland to step up for a title opportunity had Joe not taken his title. The arena darkened as Schiavone brought the attention back to the contract. MJF’s music hit. He signed his Casino Gauntlet Contract for the Men’s World Championship, thus making the World’s End match a 4-way bout. He then proceeded to get under each man’s skin with his insults. Strickland fired back, but MJF retorted with a P Diddy reference. Unfortunate.

He compared their routes; MJF was successful in AEW, whereas Strickland worked in WWE. MJF even accused him of “twerking for Top Dolla.” Concluding by reiterating his intentions to win the belt, he reintroduced himself as Maxwell Jacob Friedman, saying that he’s better than you and you know it.

JetSpeed backstage promo

Kevin Knight congratulated Speedball Mike Bailey for his recent Continental Classic win. They each agreed to continue bringing their A-Game in the tournament.

Athena, Mercedes Mone, Megan Bayne, & Marina Shafir defeated Timeless Love Bombs (Mina Shirakawa & Toni Storm) & Babes of Wrath (Harley Cameron & Willow Nightingale)

Nightingale promptly slammed Mone and piled Cameron on top of her. Athena retaliated with a nasty punch. Shafir and Bayne fell victim to a figure-four leglock and DDT, respectively. Chaos erupted, with every woman going feral on one another. Cameron plummeted Bayne with a DDT. Storm thrust Shafir about with a series of Snapmares and followed with a Hip Attack. Both teams traded devastating moves and finishers, leading to Nightingale obliterating Bayne with a Spinebuster. The Megasus retaliated with a top rope hurricanrana. Nightingale decked all the women on the outside with a Splash. Athena struck Nightingale with an O Face, leaving Mone to capture the pin.

(Insane 8-woman tag. Nightingale completely no-sold the O Face, which I thought was hilarious.)

Pac defeated Kyle Fletcher

Fletcher initially had wrist control, only to find it stolen by the Bastard. Pac snuck his way to Fletcher’s shoulder, who recovered with a slam. Evading a Baseball Slide, Fletcher decapitated Pac with a clothesline. The competitors brawled on the outside, where eventually Pac had agonized Fletcher with a hurricanrana. Avalanche Belly-to-Belly Suplex lent Fletcher more room to breathe. Near the barricade, Fletcher sent Pac flying with a Half-and-Half Suplex. German Suplex gave Pac momentary respite. An Orihara Moonsault from Pac dazed Fletcher, leading to a close bridged suplex pinfall. Fletcher crushed Pac with a Liger Bomb, but couldn’t quite put the Brit away.

Catching a mid-air Pac, Fletcher almost dropped him from his shoulder, only for Pac to squeeze the life out of him in a Crossface Chickenwing. Sensing a top rope leap from Pac, Fletcher kicked the top rope to drop Pac onto the turnbuckle. Tenderizing Fletcher with multiple headbutts, Pac readied himself with an Avalanche Reverse-Hurricanrana, which brought Manchester to a standing ovation. Soaring from the top rope, Pac’s Blackout put Fletcher down for the 3-count.

(Unreal. An enthralling way to send the English crowd home happy. Fletcher pulled out so much of his arsenal, but Pac’s fluidity came in clutch. He’s often seen as a Death Riders’ lackey, but he’s come across well since his return.)

Ricochet and Bandido won the Dynamite Diamond Ring Battle Royal

The Demand battered some of the entrants en route to the ring. Luchasaurus and Shelton Benjamin collided with tackles. Josh Alexander ate an elbow from Anthony Bowens, who then bickered with Max Caster. Toa Liona pulled Luchasuarus to the outside for some punishment. Caster and Bowens united for a Scissor Me Timbers. Before they could scissor like the good old days, Ricochet eliminated Caster. Benjamin recuperated, chasing Ricochet. Ace Austin swiftly dispatched Mark Davis and Alexander, but was levered over the top rope.

Bowens clobbered Ricochet on the ropes, adding momentum in the hopes of finishing him off. Davis hurled him over the rope, however. BroDido battered Alexander and Davis with devastating slams and did the Macarena dance. Benjamin brawled with Luchasaurus, broken up by Davis and Brody King, who tussled in their place. Davis elevated Benjamin over the ropes, leading Alexander to kick him out of the ring and out of the match. Alexander tortured King with an Ankle Lock, who then propelled the Canadian to Bandido, who launched him out. Bishop Kaun teetered Bandido on the edge, to which Liona nearly decapitated him. King sacrificed himself to save Bandido as his lariat sent him and Liona outside. Kaun, too, was sent out via Bandido’s legs. Ricochet and Bandido were the final two left, and they will face off on the AEW Dynamite on 34th Street on December 24.

(Brody King’s sacrifice elevated this match to another level in its closing. Wow.)

Jon Moxley’s love for the Continental Classic

Moxley touted the intensity of the Continental Classic and how it brings the best out of wrestlers.

Orange Cassidy defeated Mascara Dorada

Dorada started with wrist control, which Cassidy leveraged into a headlock. Through his speedy offensive grappling, Dorada maintained dominion over Cassidy. The acrobatic Dorada flipped out of most of Cassidy’s moves, with an escalara giving him further advantage. Dorada left Cassidy prone on the floor, prime for his Shooting Star Press. As if that weren’t enough, Dorada powerslammed Cassidy. Cassidy unsheathed a first DDT that Dorada absorbed, but a second one landed soundly. Dorada missed a Shooting Star Press, which Cassidy pulled into a pin attempt. Expecting an Orange Punch, Dorada wrenched Cassidy’s arm on the rope. Cassidy snuck in a Crucifix Pin to end Dorada’s hopes for the night.

(Dorada’s been making every Continental Classic match his own. Young and shining like a bright star.)

Athena and Mercedes Mone touted their victory

Athena and Mone celebrated their win with Megan Bayne and Marina Shafir earlier in the evening. Mone declared she’d challenge a local English talent soon. Athena urged her to keep her eye on the ball regarding their Worlds End match against Babes of Wrath.

Jamie Hayter defeated Isla Dawn

Dawn absorbed an early burst of offense and sent the Brit falling with a lariat. She continued with a sliding dropkick. The women exchanged forearms before meeting in a Flying Crossbody collision. Dawn, frustrated at her inability to topple Hayter, fell prey to a Hayterade.

Post-match: Thekla, Julia Hart, and Skye Blue of Triangle of Madness assaulted the wrestlers. They whacked Hayter with a belt until Kris Statlander sprinted to the ring and slammed each of them. Thekla and Hart saved each other in the nick of time, while Hayter seemingly blasted Statlander with a lariat by accident.

(This match could’ve been done with more time, because I was excited and it hadn’t even hit third gear yet. I hope Isla Dawn gets that contract someday.)

FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) versus Bang Bang Gang (Juice Robinson & Colten Gunn)

Wheeler worked around Gunn’s wrist and vice versa, giving way to Robinson yanking it around. Robinson overwhelmed Harwood with some back-and-forth acrobatics. FTR set up a Shatter Machine on Robinson, but Gunn came to the save. The Bang Bang Gang sent Wheeler flying over the top rope. Harwood sapped the life from Gunn with a prolonged headlock. Wheeler attempted a Canadian Destroyer but couldn’t land it, so Harwood punctuated it with a lariat. Robinson, with the hot tag, shoulder-tackled FTR down in rapid succession. FTR, both received a Spinebuster from an energetic Robinson.

Stokely Hathaway distracted Robinson with a hidden object. Thanks to the clumsiness of Harwood and Wheeler, it was revealed to be powder, which missed its target by a long shot. Robinson hit Harwood with a Splash and rolled away so Wheeler’s own Splash would land on his partner. Gunn followed up on Harwood with a Famouser. Seeking another Shatter Machine, Harwood didn’t notice Gunn had pulled Wheeler away to damage his nether regions on the ring post. Bang Bang Gang got Harwood down for the 2-count, so close that they thought they’d won. FTR took advantage of this distraction by attacking Robinson’s leg. Wheeler held Gunn at bay so Harwood could submit Robinson with a figure-four leglock.

(Great match, but I hope this match has a follow-up later on, given the buildup to this match. Otherwise, this would’ve been a waste of a match despite the exhilarating match.)

Final Thoughts

The Continental Classic matches were all triumphs. So were the 8-woman tag team match and the men’s World Tag Team Championship match. The Dynamite Diamond Battle Royal really evolved in the latter half. MJF’s return puts a very interesting spin to the upcoming Men’s World Championship match, selling me further on World’s End. Also, I hope Tony Khan signs Isla Dawn soon.
