It is Thursday and you know what that means and the ratings for AEW Dynamite are out. We have entered a new era for All Elite Wrestling. It has been dubbed the “Rated R Era.” The build towards World End is ongoing with the Continental Classic on AEW Dynamite and Collision. It was another excellent show. Let’s dive into this week’s rating to see how the show did.
AEW Dynamite was live in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma as there are only a couple of more stops before Worlds End at the end of December. The Continental Classic Gold League was wrapping up. Swerve Strickland took center stage all night. He opened the show with a great match with Rush and was there when the Main Event wrapped up between Jon Moxley and Jay White.
Swerve also got to interact with AEW World Champion MJF and Samoa Joe. Swerve held his own with the champ. At the end of the night, we saw three men with 12 points as Jay White, Jon Moxley, and Swerve Strickland will battle next week on the go-home episode of Dynamite. The winner goes to World’s End to take on the winner of the Blue League Group.
There was a great promo with Wardlow teasing he might be the Devil. Now everyone from Roderick Strong and the Kingdom to Wardlow to Samoa Joe to Hangman Page to Swerve are involved in this Who is the Devil. Again factor in Adam Cole as well. It is a great storyline.
Chris Jericho gave an update on Kenny Omega as their match is off with Big Bill and Ricky Starks for the AEW World Tag Team Titles because Omega is out indefinitely with an illness.
Overall the show was good.
The December 20th edition of AEW Dynamite week’s show was viewed by 782,000 people and did a .26 in the 18-49 demo.
Wednesday Night Wrestling Rating:
AEW Dynamite: 782,000 viewers (.26 in 18-49)
Don’t be negative. The question is did you enjoy the show. #AEW @Ted_X @SwaGGy_D33 @2beerspodcast @bilalv87 @AndyMc81 @Ringside_Heat @seeseehawk @Hockey_Poker @FloppyEarRacing @iglen31

The viewership and demo were down from the previous week. This is the lowest viewership since the end of October. However, the show was good. The numbers are what the numbers are. AEW Dynamite was first last week in the demo. It dropped this week. That is what happens with TV ratings.
Let’s see what happens next week with the go-home show heading into Worlds End.
What are your thoughts on the show?
