AEW Full Gear 2025 Predictions: Winners and Why
AEW

The table is set and ready to go for one of the four original All Elite Wrestling Pay-Per-Views. While AEW Full Gear has had better cards on paper before, AEW has had a fantastic track record of putting on “show of the year” events month after month.

The build-up has been significant — one of the best this year —and the possibility of some great angles at Full Gear this year can go down as one of the best of the year. How will those angles unfold, and who will win? I am here to tell you. Let’s look at the Full Gear and break down who will win and why.

AEW World Championship Steel Cage Match: “Hangman” Adam Page vs Samoa Joe

Winner: “Hangman” Adam Page

WHY: If you didn’t get enough chainlink fence or cages from Blood and Guts, do we have some good news for you! “Hangman” Adam Page is going to defend his AEW World Title against Samoa Joe in their second consecutive Pay-Per-View match.

It’s hard to imagine that Joe will beat Hangman for the title, especially when you consider Joe already got his “legacy” title run at the end of 2023. What won’t be hard to imagine is Hangman and Joe putting on an absolute masterclass. We are going to get a full-on psychopath Hangman who will do something unhinged.

Page mentioned his steel cage match against Swerve Strickland, where he stuck his mouth with a medical needle. Now add the AEW World Title and see what the Hangman is capable of. This win versus Joe should propel Page to his next rivalry. The Switchblade?

AEW Women’s World Championship: Kris Statlander vs Mercedes Mone

Winner: Kris Statlander

WHY: Although Kris Statlander will eventually win, it’s not hard to imagine a world in which Mercedes Mone finally wins the big one. Ultimately, however, the story Tony Khan and the creative team are going to tell is that, no matter how many titles she wins around the world, she can’t win the big one.

Mercedes will have lost a title shot versus Toni Storm and Statlander. The slow deterioration of her world, losing all her belts, one by one, will be the start of her road to the AEW Women’s title. On the flip side, this will build up Statlander by giving the champion her first singles win over the C.E.O. A win over Mercedes will give her the push she needs to be the next great AEW Women’s champion.

AEW World Tag Team Championship: Brodido vs FTR

Winner: FTR

WHY: Brodido, who started as a makeshift tag team, has become the heart and soul of the tag team division. A tag team division that was creatively lost and needed a jump start, and at every title defense, it seemed as though this was going to be the last one for Bandido and Brody King, but they kept winning, to fanfare. Unfortunately, this might be it for the crowd favorite tag team. FTR is the logical team to defeat Brodido.

For FTR, their next major rivalry will be with Cope and Christian. Khan loves his “legacy” title runs, and that rivalry between the two teams has not concluded. CnC winning the titles off FTR makes much more sense than winning them off Brodido. Hopefully, this is the start of stellar singles runs for King and Bandido.

TNT Championship, NO DQ: Kyle Fletcher vs Mark Briscoe

Winner: Kyle Fletcher

WHY: Mark Briscoe could have the biggest win of his singles career and beat Kyle Fletcher for the TNT title, giving Briscoe his first singles title run in AEW. However, Fletcher is on the run of a lifetime, so Briscoe winning isn’t on the cards just yet. Briscoe, as a character, needs something different, and joining the Don Callis Family would be a good detour. It’s going to be really fun to see how Briscoe will mess with the Callis Family.

What I do expect at the end of this—to transition Fletcher to the World Title—is for Briscoe to beat Fletcher for the title and for Fletcher to gain his freedom from the family. For this Saturday, it’s Briscoe joining the family after a match of the night contender.

Casino Gauntlet Match: Winner Will Determine the First-Ever AEW National Champion

Winner: Ricochet

Why: This Casino Guanlet will be as fun as it is challenging to predict who will win. If we are to believe what was told to us by Tony Khan, the National Championship is what the International Title started as, a title that is defended across the world and in any promotion. Who would fit perfectly as this champion?

Ultimately, the winner will be Ricochet. Ricochet being squashed by Bobby Lashley was part of the plan for him to get a sneaky win. He would fit this role as AEW ambassador so fantastically that it almost doesn’t make sense to make him champion.

As always, we will have some great returns and wrestlers we have never seen in an AEW ring. This could be a fantastic spot for Buddy Matthews. Could Andrade return? Probably not, but it could be cool. Having the Hurt Syndicate be the first two entrants in the Casino Gauntlet was a stroke of genius. Those two big hosses will bring the house down, and this will be our only shot at going against each other in AEW.

No Holds Barred: Kyle O’Reilly vs Jon Moxley

Winner: Kyle O’Reilly

Why: When you started to wonder if Jon Moxley was going to get on Full Gear, we finally got the one-on-one match Kyle O’Reilly has been asking for. Moxley, in a “No Holds Barred” match, will be his classic psychotic self, but it will not be enough as O’Reilly gets his singles win over Moxley.

The big storyline that is going to come out of this match is the Death Riders either finally realizing that Moxley is the weak link, or having known for a while and jumping him. Jump him just like they did Bryan Danielson. On his way down to Rock Bottom, Moxley is going to give O’Reilly a massive push.

PAC vs Darby Allin

Winner: Darby Allin

Why: While every match on Full Gear has a stipulation or gimmick, the game between PAC and Darby Allin is a straight, traditional bout. The Death Rider wants to remove Allin from his natural habitat, the chaotic, bells and whistles, and get him in a one-on-one match.

PAC is the perfect opponent for Allin to prove he can win a regular wrestling match. PAC is not only one of the most athletic wrestlers in the world, but is also one of the strongest—almost the perfect wrestler. Allin’s win in this match proves he can beat one of the best in the world without his tricks and gimmicks. This win will add another notch to his wrestling belt.

$1,000,000 Match: Kenny Omega and Jurassic Express vs Josh Alexander and Young Bucks

Winner: Kenny Omega and Jungle Express

WHY: Do the Young Bucks finally turn face again and reform the Elite with Kenny Omega, or do they join the Don Callis Family? The time is now for the Bucks to help their friend, who will be in need, and regroup as The Elite. Omega and Jurassic Express will get the win, but the Young Bucks will stop the Don Callis family’s beatdown of Omega. This will start the Bucks’ redemption tour, which will have them turn back face. It’s time for them to return.

I can see a double turn happening here. Could Jurassic Express turn its back on Omega, where the Bucks save them? The odds aren’t high, but it could happen.

4-Way Tag Match (Winning Team Picks AEW Women’s World Tag Team Title Tournament Semifinal Match Stipulation)

Winner:  Marina Shafir and Megan Bayne

Why: This four-way match between the semi-finalists was set up to fail from the jump. It would be more successful just running the semi-final matches during Full Gear, instead of shoehorning them into the PPV. However, the match is filled with great wrestlers who will make the most of their opportunities.

Megan Bayne and Marina Shafir are the favorites, so in kayfabe, it makes sense for them to win and set the stipulation. Furthering the appearance that they are going to win the first-ever AEW Women’s Tag Team titles.
