MJF has been one of the more talked about characters in All Elite Wrestling ever since he debuted for the promotion back in 2019. His work earned him the longest AEW World Championship reign the company has, holding the belt for 406 days, and an "absurd" amount of money, in his words.
Talking with Jimmy Traina on the SI Media podcast, MJF talked a bit about his current AEW contract, claiming he is one of the highest-paid wrestlers in the sport today, and teased a little about what age he plans on retiring from in-ring action. He also got the chance to speak about other things, like his acting career, the New York Mets, and much more.
MJF wouldn't give out an exact amount of what he is making with his current AEW contract, but did admit that by the time his contract is over, he will have made much more than $15 million. He mentioned how he is making "Top Guy" money at only 28 years old, while others making around the same are in their 30s or older.
He also mentioned the bidding war that was going on between AEW and WWE back when his contract was expiring, saying that neither company won that, and instead he did due to the "absurd" amount of money he is making.
After talking a bit about his role in Happy Gilmore 2 and his shoulder injury, MJF admitted that he has an age where it will be a "definitive out". Traina asked if the age started with a four, to which MJF responded that it was a pretty good guess.
He went on to further say that professional wrestling is one of the hardest jobs possible, speaking about the physical, emotional, and mental toll the business has on people. He also said that "definitive out" age doesn't mean he wouldn't be able to come back, sell tickets, merch, and pop a crowd.
