The Air Jordan 12 'Bloodline' have been delayed more than fans would have liked. However, thankfully it appears this one has a release date and a clearer picture to paint when it comes to the origin of the colorway and concept.
WWE icon Roman Reigns wore a very similar pair in the past and some mock-ups have implied the sneaker is paying homage to vampire culture. Who has it right?

January 2025 was the plan. Jordan Brand scrapped it for the Flu Game 12, which dropped March 2025 at $210. Can't really argue with that swap. The Bloodline went quiet after. Like, gone. No leaks, no updates, over a year of silence. June 2026 rumors started floating and the date has since moved to May 23. I'll believe it when I'm holding the box given what this shoe has been through.
I cover WWE. Reigns has worn custom black-and-red 12s on TV and his faction literally goes by The Bloodline. Even I did a double take. But Jordan Brand never said anything about Reigns. No press release, no collab, zero connection on their end. The vampire thing was fan renderings.
People saw the black nubuck with red seeping through and started building this whole gothic backstory. Creative? Sure. Real? No. The colorway comes from the 2004 "Nubuck" Jordan 12. If you know that shoe you already see it. Same blacked-out upper, same red kept quiet. "Bloodline" stuck because of the Bred ties. That's the whole story.
Most of the early photos were mock-ups and bad ones at that so a lot of people assumed this was just another Flu Game. It's not. The Flu Game has Varsity Red across the mudguard, tongue, heel tab, the Jumpman bleeding onto the toe. You see it from across the room. The Bloodline doesn't do that. Jordan Brand put red on the eyelets and side shield, both metallic, and the rest of the shoe is black nubuck. Overlays, midsole, outsole.
All black. MJ wore the Flu Games dropping 38 on Utah with food poisoning and that shoe carries all of that energy. The Bloodline has the same Chicago roots but way less noise. Like MJ at the podium after. Already won. Nothing left to prove.
