AJ Lee Returns to WWE After 10-Year Hiatus

Lee made her return to fight against WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch. Lynch has been “harassing” Lee’s husband, CM Punk, since Clash in Paris. Lynch joined Seth Rollins’ stable The Vision at the end of Clash in Paris. She attacked Punk and made sure her husband got the pin and retained his World Heavyweight Title. Lee got the best of Lynch and set up a future match — maybe at Wrestlepalooza? On Monday, the three-time Divas Champion reacted to her return on X. She wrote:

“You've had my back for a decade. This run is for you, my wonderful weirdos."

WWE announced on Sunday that Lee is going to appear on this Monday’s episode of WWE RAW. The last time Lee was on an episode of RAW was the March 30, 2015, episode, where she teamed with Naomi and former WWE Superstar Paige to defeat Natalya and The Bella Twins.

CM Punk Celebrates Her Debut Anniversary

As noted, AJ signed a multi-year, full-time contract. So fans can expect to see a lot of her. Lee made her official WWE debut on September 7, 2010, on NXT, where she teamed with her mentor Primo and defeated Goldust and Aksana.

Like his wife, Punk took to social media on Monday. The former WWE Heavyweight Champion celebrated the 15th anniversary of AJ’s WWE debut as well as Naomi’s debut. Punk joked about how the two women had never aged since their debuts. He wrote on his Instagram stories:

“Happy anniversary of the debut of these two beauts. Stay away from them, they are obviously vampires.”

One of the last singles matches that AJ and Naomi had before AJ left WWE was the March 31, 2014, episode, where Naomi defeated Lee in a Lumberjill match.

As previously mentioned, Naomi did comment before Lee’s return. She jokingly said that she was going to “crash out” if Lee actually did return. Naomi is currently off TV because of her pregnancy. She had to relinquish the WWE Women’s World Title. When Naomi does return, it wouldn’t be a huge surprise if the two feud or maybe become the tag team champions?
