This marks the first time WWE talent is being sent to the promotion after WWE announced their purchase of AAA over WrestleMania weekend, though the deal has yet to be finalized. They simultaneously announced a joint event between WWE, NXT, and AAA called Worlds Collide that will take place just a few days prior to Triplemania Regia on June 7 at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles.
Regia is not to be confused with the actual Triplemania event, which will take place on August 16 in Mexico City.
At AAA’s live Max event this past Saturday, Rey Mysterio opened the program with a video message highlighting the new alliance, saying AAA and WWE will take lucha libre higher, faster, better, and farther.
