Athena to defend ROH Women's title at AEW Battle of the Belts X

Ring of Honor Women's Champion Athena will look to extend her lengthy win streak and title defense streak on Saturday's AEW Battle of the Belts X. Athena will defend against Red Velvet who is still looking for her first AEW or ROH title. She is 5-1 in her brief ROH run and is coming off a March loss to Queen Aminata in the recent Women's TV title tournament. This will be their first ever time sharing the ring together. Athena last defended her title at last Friday's ROH Supercard of Honor against former AEW Women's Champion Hikaru Shida. That was her 20th title defense dating back to December 2022. She has won her last 19 singles matches in both ROH. This will be her first appearance on AEW TV since a July 2023 loss to Willow Nightingale in the Owen Hart Foundation women's tournament. Her last AEW match came at last October's WrestleDream pre-show in an eight-person tag team match.
