Austin Theory believes the pairing with Grayson Waller in WWE is perfect, and they have the gold to prove it.

SmackDown Superstar Austin Theory was a recent guest on the Battleground Podcast. When asked what it is about Grayson Waller that allows them to gel together so well as a team, Theory said it all comes down to them sharing the same mindset.

“I’d have to say the mindset, man. We’re two dudes that are young, we’re hungry,” Austin Theory said. “We know the abilities and the skills and the talent that we both have. And the thing about us both is we’re not willing to shadow those talents or those gifts or whatever we feel can propel us to the next level. We’re very outgoing, and we want to show the world. And people might perceive that as arrogant or cocky or feel like, oh, I don’t like these guys, but it is what it is, man.

“We know how to be successful and we’re not going to stop because everybody hated when we got thrown together. And they were like, oh, this doesn’t make sense. This is dumb, and saying all these things like they always do because they always got something to say whether you’re doing good or bad. But look at us now, undefeated Tag Team Champions, holding two Tag Team Championships that no other team has ever had in the history of the WWE; brand new titles.

“We went to WrestleMania 40, the biggest WrestleMania of all time, and we won. And it is what it is you can hate all day, but we’re perfect together, man. We’re running through everything. We travel the world, we show up to our appearances everybody wants to see us. They might not get a signature because we ain’t got time because we’re so busy.

“But man, I’ll tell you what: Us being paired together is one of the greatest things that could have happened. And Austin Theory loves to say the greatest this and that but when I say it, I mean it. Me and Grayson Waller unstoppable, undefeated, the greatest Tag Team Champions of all time.”

Austin Theory reflects on A-Town Down Under’s Title win at WrestleMania XL

When asked what it felt like to win the SmackDown Tag Team Titles at WrestleMania XL, Theory reflected upon growing up as a fan and seeing Money in the Bank ladder matches at the Showcase of the Immortals.

“So I started watching WWE when I was eight,” Austin Theory began. “And I’m trying to remember how old I was — I believe it was WrestleMania 25, when they still had the ladder match, and it was for the briefcase, the Money in the Bank. But I remember how intrigued as a kid I was in that match. Especially at WrestleMania, this huge ladder match crazy things happen.

“And for me, it’s just one of those things to go from that as a child to the biggest WrestleMania of all time, WrestleMania 40, and going out there and winning the Tag Team Championships. Not winning the Tag Team Championships after the first tag team champions won them.

“Me and Grayson Waller are the first-place Tag Team Champions. Miz and R-Truth, their second place. So what a moment, man. Climbing that ladder, seeing Grayson grab the titles. Me holding the ladder down for us and just becoming the greatest undefeated Tag Team Champions and the rest is history. Amazing time.”
