'Awful' - CM Punk Hilariously Blind Ranks Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre

CM Punk was left in despair after messing up a blind ranking segment involving his fiercest WWE rivals Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre.

The Best in the World is gearing up for SummerSlam, where he faces Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship on Saturday night (August 2). The Ring General is the latest WWE star to draw the ire of Punk after over a year spent feuding with Rollins and McIntyre.

CM Punk Mistakenly Puts Drew McIntyre Second In Blind Ranking

Punk joined up with TikToker @Allenownz and took part in a blind ranking segment, which saw him choose his preferred wrestlers from a 10-man list of past and present WWE stars. Names such as John Cena and even Daniel Bryan (now known as Bryan Danielson in AEW) featured.

The first name to emerge was The Rock, with whom Punk has had several run-ins during his career, and he put the Final Boss seventh. He then chose eighth for the late Bray Wyatt, explaining that "he died too god damn young".

The 46-year-old lost to Cena for the Undisputed WWE Championship last month at Night of Champions but he was honest with his assessment of the 17-time world champion, putting him fourth. He intriguingly let the Twitch streamer decide on Bryan of which he was surprised to see him choose fifth spot.

Punk needed little time deciding on Goldberg, immediately choosing ten, perhaps to sbhow his allegiance to Bret Hart who has real-life heat with the former WCW World Heavyweight Champion. He similarly rushed Rollins, deciding on number nine for the Visionary whom he lost to in a triple threat match at WrestleMania 41.

The Second City Saint was in disbelief to hear that @Allenownz would have put Rollins in the top spot:

"You'd put him at one? Amazing."

Rhodes was given third while Roman Reigns sat at six before Punk realised the mistake he'd made when McIntyre's image appeared with only the first or second spot available:

"This is bulls**t. No, no, f**k him. He's not one or two."

Punk settled on second place for the Scottish Warrior before having to accept The Miz as number one on his blind ranking list. He wasn't best pleased:

"We did awful!"

The Voice of the Voiceless has interestingly faced all but two of the wrestlers on the list, leaving WWE when Bray Wyatt first broke out onto the main roster in 2013. He also missed Goldberg's return to the promotion in 2016, before the heavyweight made several sporadic appearances until retiring earlier this month after losing to Gunther at Saturday Night's Main Event.

Punk, McIntyre and Rollins' Iconic RAW Segment Was Unscripted

One of the best segments of WWE TV from 2024 featured Punk, McIntyre, and Rollins in a heated exchange, where all three were at the top of their game on the microphone. Punk was preparing for his return match at SummerSlam against McIntyre with Rollins serving as the guest referee.

There were several memorable lines used by the trio, including when Punk made a dig at the Scot's 'Chosen One' nickname being handed to him by former WWE chairman Vince McMahon. They were given free rein during the segment ,which McIntyre touched on shortly after (via Fightful):

"If you watch that interview with myself, CM Punk, and Seth Rollins, I’m sure you could feel the tension"

He added:

"Basically, the whole thing, if it felt uncomfortable, it’s because there was an outline and it’s three guys going out there who may not like each other and may have personal feelings, but also are good at their job and we go out there and tear into each other verbally without it on a piece of paper because it’s stupid writing everything down to deliver it to a live audience."

Punk and McIntyre's year-long feud saw them face one another three times, with the former AEW star winning the feud in a classic Hell in a Cell match at Bad Blood in October 2024. He then switched his attention to Rollins, with whom he is still feuding despite the Money in the Bank holder's recent injury.

Rollins tweaked his knee in a match against LA Knight at Saturday Night's Main Event and has been absent ever since. There are reports suggesting it's part of a storyline that sees him return and cash in on Punk should he defeat Gunther at SummerSlam this weekend.
