Axiom makes surprise indie appearance in Spain

Reigning WWE NXT Tag Team Champion Axiom made a surprise appearance in Spain Thursday in his return to his home country.

The former A-Kid/Nino Anonimo came out unmasked during a Lucha Libre Rebelion event — a surprise to some online who have never seen his real face. He appeared and presented the first-ever Nino Anonimo Cup to local wrestler Zozaya.

WWE is making a stop in Barcelona, Spain, Friday for SmackDown as part of a big European tour ahead of next month’s WrestleMania 41.

The 27-year-old native of Madrid last wrestled as A-Kid in April 2022 as part of WWE UK before moving stateside to compete for the main NXT brand under the masked Axiom character.

Axiom and Nathan Frazer were unsuccessful in unseating TNA Tag Team Champions The Hardys at this past Tuesday’s NXT Roadblock in New York City. Matt & Jeff Hardy later intimated they want a shot at the NXT tag titles at some point.
