Becky Lynch has commented on Mercedes Mone’s AEW contract, as the former Sasha Banks had been in talks with both WWE and All Elite Wrestling before making her decision.

Payday

Once it was clear that a deal wouldn’t be reached between WWE and Mone due to Mone reportedly asking to be paid on the same level as Lynch, talks fell apart, sending Mone to the rival promotion.

Mone made her AEW arrival earlier this month at AEW Big Business in Boston and is expected to wrestle at next month’s Dynasty pay-per-view event.

Reaction

Mone is reportedly one of the highest-paid women in pro wrestling. While speaking with the Orlando Sentinel regarding Mone’s contract with AEW, Lynch praised Mone for getting paid what she feels like she is worth.

“I think that’s an important part, getting paid equally for the equal work and the equal position we are at right now,” Lynch said. “Women’s evolutions and revolutions are fine and well, but making sure that they equate to contracts and financial reward for these things when we are doing equal work, is hugely important.”

Lynch will challenge Rhea Ripley for the Women’s World Championship at next weekend’s WWE WrestleMania 40.
