Bold Predictions for WWE King and Queen Of The Ring 2024, Including Cody Rhodes Vs. Randy Orton Set Up For Summerslam

We are just a couple of days away from the King and Queen of the Ring premium live event, which means there is no better time than now to make a round of predictions for the event this weekend in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Unlike years past when WWE events in The Kingdom seemed to be outside storyline continuity, the company has made an effort to deliver major matches for recent cards in Saudi Arabia. This year’s King and Queen of the Ring event is no different and will feature a trio of title bouts along with the finals of the two tournaments.

The headliner of the card will see Cody Rhodes defend his belt in what could be a show-stealer clash with social media influencer-turned-talented wrestler Logan Paul. The event inside the Jeddah Super Dome will also see Becky Lynch defend her recently won Women’s World title against red-hot rival Liv Morgan.

With all of that in mind, let’s make some predictions for the event which kicks off with a preview show on Peacock at noon ET, 9 AM PT.

Cody Rhodes retains the WWE Championship against Logan Paul

Logan Paul has been shockingly good during his short stint in WWE. He had no formal training before he joined the company but he hasn’t really needed it. Like his brother Jake Paul, he is a phenomenal athlete and his acting background has played huge dividends in building a strong personality on WWE television. One day he could become WWE champion, it just won’t be at King and Queen of the Ring.

This match should be highly entertaining and will certainly have some close calls, but we are nowhere close to seeing the end of Cody Rhodes’ run as champion, and beating Paul will be a nice addition to his title defense hit list.

Randy Orton surprises to become 2024 WWE King of the Ring

WWE

Based on the history of the event, and how strongly Gunther has been booked during his main roster run, it just seems highly likely that he will be victorious on Saturday afternoon. However, with Paul Levesque revealing on Thursday that the winner of the tournament will get a world title opportunity on their brand at Summerslam, Gunther vs. Priest doesn’t make much sense at the moment.

However, a feud at the biggest event of the Summer playing off the long history between Rhodes and Orton seems like an excellent headliner for the card. Orton does not have many years left on his wrestling bump card so this being one of his last major achievements before taking an L to “The American Nightmare” is the sensible route for the company.

Nia Jax earns biggest achievement yet, wins 2024 Queen of the Ring

WWE

While many fans had issues with Nia Jax’s first run in the company — due to a reputation of injuring co-workers — she has been great since returning late last year. She has slimmed down to become a better performer in the ring and Jax has turned into one of the best heels in the women’s division for either brand.

However, she has gotten few big wins since being back. That will end on Saturday when she beats highly-touted prospect Lyra Valkyria. The former NXT champion is being positioned to be a force in the months ahead, but she is not winning Queen of the Ring this fast. Jax will beat Bianca Belair on Smackdown and then win the tournament this weekend.

The Liv Morgan revenge tour includes a world title win

WWE

WWE has smartly taken advantage of the heat Liv Morgan has developed since injuring fan-favorite “Mami” Rhea Ripley. She is in the early stages of what could be one of her best runs and there is a very good storyline with Ripley being set up for this summer. They can’t waste that opportunity, and with various reports claiming Becky Lynch has not signed a new contract yet, it just seems like the best move for all involved for the “Irish Lasskicker” to do the honors and give Morgan the biggest win of her wrestling career.
