Conference USA is Expected to Add Delaware as New Member

With conference expansion occuring left and right, Conference USA is not sitting back on its heels. Currently sitting at 9 teams for the 2023 seasons, the conference will add Kennesaw State to the mix in 2024 and the Blue Hens in 2025.

Over the last two years, conference realignment has hit C-USA hard. UTSA, Charlotte, UAB, North Texas, and FAU all left this year to join the American Athletic Conference. Last season Marshall, Southern Miss, and Old Dominion left for the Sun Belt.

The departures left only Middle Tennessee State, Western Kentucky, UTEP, Louisiana Tech, and Florida International. So in July, it was announced Liberty, New Mexico State, Jacksonville State, and Sam Houston State would join for the 2023 season.

What does Delaware Bring to Conference USA?

The Blue Hens have a history of winning at the Division II and FCS levels. Claiming 5 DII National Titles and 1 FCS National Championship, they last won in 2003. They have made 5 FCS Playoffs since 2010. They will be transitioning to the FBS level.
