WWE has signed a lot of departing AEW stars recently. Aleister Black and Rusev have been welcomed back, and Blake Monroe, formerly Mariah May in AEW, is now an NXT Superstar. Even more wrestlers currently signed to AEW could be jumping ship soon, though, with WWE reportedly interested in three stars whose contracts are up soon, and a fourth star who continues to hint they're looking for a fresh start.
That fourth wrestler is the biggest of the group - Britt Baker. In an Instagram story that has since disappeared, but you can check out below, The DMD shared a cryptic post that some have assumed is an analogy for her current standing in the wrestling business. "Next time you feel your worth is nothing, maybe you're at the wrong place," the quote reads, using the changing cost of bottled water as an example.

Baker hasn't wrestled a single match in AEW in 2025, and even before that, rumors swirled suggesting all is not well backstage between the former AEW Women's Champion and the promotion's decision makers. There were also reports at the start of the year suggesting Baker was causing issues backstage, and that might be what ultimately leads to her leaving AEW once her contract has expired.
Baker could be waiting a while to leave AEW as, if reports about her current deal are to be believed, she is tied to the company until late 2026. Danhausen and Private Party, on the other hand, might be able to leave far sooner. According to Bodyslam.net, those are the three wrestlers WWE is interested in signing once they become available, meaning they could all be WWE Superstars before the end of 2025, and long before Baker gets the chance.
The reports build on Fightful previously reporting that Danhausen's AEW deal comes to an end in July. For those who don't have a calendar handy, July has officially begun. That means Danhausen could be leaving AEW any day now, and since it's a departure and not a release, he will be free to show up in WWE whenever he likes if the company really is interested in signing him, and if Danhausen wants to try his luck in WWE.
Private Party may well be in the same boat. While the exact dates their deals expire haven't been revealed, last month, Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that they'd be free to leave the company soon. I'm somewhat surprised that WWE would be interested in signing Danhausen or Private Party, but we could see all of them show up, presumably in NXT, very soon.
