WrestleMania season is here, which means the return of Brock Lesnar. The Beast Incarnate is an important piece of WWE's biggest show of the year, so who will he battle at WrestleMania 42 . Will it be Oba Femi? How about that dream match with Gunther? Nope. If Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer is to be believed, as of January, the plan is for Brock Lesnar to face LA Knight .

In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer had this to say about Brock Lesnar's WrestleMania 42 opponent:
“The Brock Lesnar direction for Raw is likely to be teased at the 2/23 Raw in Atlanta when he returns. There was a tease at the Royal Rumble of Oba Femi and after the Rumble we were only told that it was not a sure thing yet. We do know that in the lineup in late January for the show, that Lesnar was listed as facing LA Knight. But in the Rumble, nothing memorable was done in that direction while the Lesnar-Femi face-off was set up to get a big reaction and actually got the biggest reaction of the show except for Brie Bella.
“That’s not 100 percent by the way…it could happen. I’m not saying it’s not happening. I’m just saying that I was told this one’s not 100 percent, and that was the Lesnar and Oba Femi match.” (h/t WrestlingNews.co)
If LA Knight is indeed Brock Lesnar's WrestleMania match, that would certainly be a shocker coming out of nowhere. Fans are desperate to see WWE do more with Knight, but is this the route to go? If Knight were to win, it would certainly be the biggest moment of his career. However, if he's put in the ring to simply be fed to Lesnar (the more likely scenario), you can expect to see fans react with outrage. That's the last thing WWE needs right now.
Whether you are for or against the idea of Brock Lesnar facing LA Knight, it's best not to get excited or angry about it just yet. The source of the report is Dave Meltzer, and while he's a legend respected for his knowledge as a historian, and many follow his match ratings, he is often wrong in the news department. Just yesterday he was reporting Brody King wasn't on AEW Dynamite because Warner Bros. Discovery didn't want anti-ICE chants. A few hours later, Sean Ross Sapp with Fightful Select had a report saying both WBD and an AEW source told him that was not at all true.
For the longest time, Lesnar vs. Gunther was the route to go. That now doesn't seem likely until it's time for Lesnar to retire. Lesnar vs. Oba Femi is the smart choice if WWE wants to build Femi into the next top star. The only way it can be Lesnar vs. LA Knight is if WWE is prepared to strap a rocket to the megastar's back and finally push him to the moon.
