  • Chavo Guerrero Jr. re-signed with WWE to help lead AAA after WWE's acquisition.
  • He's focused on preserving Lucha Libre tradition while using WWE marketing to expand it.
  • He returned as a producer and appeared at Worlds Collide honoring Eddie Guerrero's AAA legacy.

Another wrestling veteran has signed a new deal with WWE. Chavo Guerrero Jr. officially confirmed that he re-signed with the company in a recent interview with Bill Apter.

Chavo Guerrero Explains Why He Re-Signed With WWE

During the interview, Chavo explained what made him decide to sign a new deal with WWE, and it involves Lucha Libre AAA. It was in April 2025 that WWE first announced that it had acquired the promotion. For Chavo, it's all about family legacy. His uncle is, of course, the late great Eddie Guerrero, and his father is Chavo Guerrero Sr. That’s just two of a long list of family members of luchadors. Chavo also feels very confident in WWE's role with AAA. He said:

“I just re-signed with WWE. So, I'm helping out with their AAA show. I’m back with them. AAA is awesome, was always awesome. Lucha Libre, you know, that's where my family originated from. So, I have a big love of Lucha Libre and just to see AAA under that WWE umbrella is pretty pretty awesome. Pretty cool. It's one thing that that we want to keep — the tradition of Lucha Libre and keep what makes Lucha so amazing. And then you do that with the WWE marketing and the WWE styles, I think the sky is the limit.” (h/t: WrestlePurists)

Chavo was at the June 7, 2025, AAA x NXT Worlds Collide show, and it was later said that he was a producer for AAA. On September 12, 2025, Guerrero appeared in the ring at Worlds Collide: Las Vegas, holding a banner honoring Eddie's work in AAA.

Chavo would go on to Lucha Underground from 2014 until 2019. His cousin and Eddie’s daughter, Shaul Guerrero, was also on the show for its final season. She was a ring announcer. Anyway, after Lucha Underground, Chavo was with All Elite Wrestling from 2021 to 2022.

He also, along with embattled wrestler Alberto El Patron owner of a promotion called Nacion Lucha Libre. It would last from 2019 to 2020. The first show included El Hijo del Fantasma (WWE star Santos Escobar), L.A. Park, Thunder Rosa, Bestia 666, and Bandido. So that’s just a brief look at his career after he left WWE in June 2011.
