Although The Maverick lost the match, he had no reason to be ashamed of his performance at all. He did everything he could to win, even coming prepared with extra brass knuckles. The 29-year-old star took to X and stated how much fun he had during his match against The American Nightmare. He thanked his adversary for the title match and showed that despite all the differences between them, they respect each other professionally. While Rhodes was impressed by the improvement in his wrestling in such a short time, Paul also supported him during the whole WrestleMania XL saga.
