Both men appeared on the Grayson Waller Effect. Cody Rhodes challenged the Rock for a one-on-one match “any place, anytime.”
NO WAY! @CodyRhodes just challenged @TheRock to a match anytime, anywhere on The @GraysonWWE Effect!#WWEChamber pic.twitter.com/QZCn7xrVH4

After Rhodes cut his promo, Rollins declared he had Cody’s back in the fight against the Bloodline. The two men beat up Austin Theory as Waller watched on.
Rhodes: Rock, you indeed slapped me across the face. And at WrestleMania 40 I am wrestling Roman Reigns in the main event. But until then, I am wide open. So let’s make it official: Rock, I want to wrestle you one-on-one, anytime, any place.
Rollins: What do you say, Perth? I think it’s time we cut the head off the snake once and for all. Cody, I admire your challenge to The Rock. But when it comes to The Bloodline, you know, the entire world knows, there is no such thing as one-on-one. So if and when The Rock decides to take you up on that challenge, just know you won’t be fighting that battle alone.
The Rock and Cody Rhodes had a history in WWE before Cody left and came back. So there is a story to tell there that dates back to a promo The Rock cut on Cody on an episode Raw after The Rock won the WWE Championship from CM Punk.
Things have heated up with The Rock returning to the WWE and wanting to fight Roman Reigns for the title at Wrestlemania. After winning the Royal Rumble, Cody Rhodes stepped aside for The Rock so he could have a staredown with Roman Reigns to close an episode of Smackdown.
And who could forget the Wrestlemania 40 press conference in Las Vegas? The Rock slapped Cody Rhodes across the face to start a brawl there. Then the Rock cut a promo on Cody Rhodes two weeks ago on Smackdown, seemingly aligning himself with The Bloodline.
So, it will be interesting to see how WWE handles a singles match between Rhodes and The Rock. It appears in Night 1 of Wrestlemania; we are getting a tag match between Rollins and Rhodes, taking on Reigns and The Rock.
However, that match could happen at another point in time. With both men eyeing Roman Reigns, Rhodes and The Rock could have a match on Night 1 of Wrestlemania. A stipulation of the match could see the winner of that match fight Reigns in the main event of Wrestlemania.
Cody initially said on the Feb. 2 episode of SmackDown that “finishing the story” was as much about taking everything from Reigns as it was winning the title.
If it’s assumed the Bloodline is everything to Reigns, and The Rock was officially introduced as the newest member of the group last week, then Rhodes would have the opportunity to dismantle it by taking out the Brahma Bull on WrestleMania Saturday.
Who knows the direction WWE will go in, as Wrestlemania is six weeks away.
The fact is The Rock will be wrestling for the first time in a real match since Wrestlemania 29.
