Cody Rhodes Reportedly Set to Join Roman Reigns in the Live-Action ‘Street Fighter’ Movie
Randy Orton Explains Why He Needs to Become King of the Ring Over Cody Rhodes at Night of Champions 3 Cody Rhodes (via- WWE)

Having just turned 40 on June 30th this past weekend, Cody Rhodes is starting to explore more outside ventures than ever before. The latest piece of news regarding ‘The American Nightmare’ could see him act alongside his former archnemesis, Roman Reigns. How’s that so? It’s because Rhodes is in talks to play Guile in the live-action reboot of the Street Fighter series.

This was exclusively broken by Nexus Point News. If it materializes, Rhodes will join a star cast featuring Jason Momoa, 50 Cent, and Reigns, who is slated to play the role of villain Akuma. If Rhodes can land this legendary role, he would become the first man to play it since Jean-Claude Van Damme in the 1994 version of the film. For the unversed, Guile is a U.S Air Force pilot famous for his military excellence and dons a similar-looking blonde haircut as Rhodes.

Not that long ago, Rhodes’ cameo in the Naked Gun reboot made rounds on the internet. The fans could expect the former WWE champion to bolster his presence on the big screen as he does aspire to making it big in Hollywood.

But for now, the Charlotte-born wrestler may temporarily rejoice at the fact that he overcame Randy Orton in the finale of the 24th edition of King of the Ring at Night of Champions. In what was an absolute pity for ‘The Viper’, the 14-time champion finished runner-up for the second straight year in the KOTR tournament. However, it appears like Orton has nothing but admiration for Rhodes.

Moreover, during this week’s pre-taped edition of SmackDown, ‘The Apex Predator’ took a promise from Dusty’s baby boy that he’d leave no stone unturned to dethrone John Cena for the Undisputed WWE title at SummerSlam. Rhodes pinned Cena in a tag team match at Money in the Bank, but he will have to emulate it at The Biggest Party of the Summer to make up for his WrestleMania 41 misery.

Cody Rhodes wants to win over fans upset at his WrestleMania 41 match

This year’s WrestleMania main event between Cody Rhodes and John Cena turned out to be a total disaster of sorts. The grandeur of it was hinged on The Rock‘s potential involvement and what he’d have done to screw Rhodes out of the WWE title. After all, the storyline leading into the show implicated Cena selling his soul to ‘The Final Boss’. But none of that happened. Rhodes did taste defeat, but at what expense? Travis Scott.

The rapper’s synergy with Cena to nullify Rhodes was seen as a fiasco among the fans. Cognizant of that miffed fanbase, ‘The American Nightmare’ wants to do some course correction. Speaking on the Busted Open Radio podcast, the Quarterback of WWE took full responsibility for making the fans feel underwhelmed about his WrestleMania encounter with the Peacemaker actor.

So, as far as Rhodes’ goal for SummerSlam is concerned, he wants to wipe that disappointment off everyone’s faces by taking them over the finish line with his rematch against Cena. As expected, the WWE Universe is vehemently opposing any Travis Scott involvement in Cena vs. Rhodes Part II. The Houston-born artist had previously ruptured The Prodigal Son’s eardrum at the Elimination Chamber. It was the same night when Cena turned heel for the first time since 2003. Speaking of Rhodes, he got a pleasant surprise after the June 30th edition of RAW ended.

Cody Rhodes’ 40th birthday celebration turned into a comedy of errors

This Monday, Cody Rhodes celebrated his 40th birthday. After the double-taping of Raw and SmackDown at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, ‘The American Nightmare’ was in the ring with Jey Uso and a kid. Rhodes blew out the candle on his cake, and while lifting it single-handedly, Uso dropped the cake on the ring canvas.

As soon as it happened, the former heavyweight champion hilariously pinned the blame on that boy from the crowd as both Uso and Rhodes couldn’t control their laughter. But eventually, the former AEW star picked up the already messed-up cake and rubbed it all over his face to add to the ongoing shenanigans.

By the looks of it, Rhodes had a blast out there, especially due to the fact that he got to live his birthday with the WWE Universe. The fans have invested in him ever since his return to WWE in 2022 as its undisputed alongside Reigns and Seth Rollins. And it’s safe to say that the investment has paid dividends, with Rhodes emerging as the torchbearer of WWE’s renaissance.
