Darby Allin Conquers Mankind’s Greatest Challenge: Is the AEW World Title Next?
Jonathan Dyer-Imagn Images

Telling Darby Allin not to do something crazy is a waste of time. Wrestling fans have seen him perform a Coffin Drop onto an actual wooden coffin and try to barbecue his opponents with a flamethrower. If Allin had never set foot in a wrestling ring, he would still be putting his body in jeopardy by performing crazy stunts on his skateboard.

Maybe Allin is the man who will finally end Jon Moxley’s reign of terror as AEW World champion. With the Death Riders by his side, Moxley has turned back challenges from Jay White, Swerve Strickland, Adam Copeland, and Samoa Joe. Will Ospreay will battle “Hangman” Adam Page at Double or Nothing for the chance to dethrone Moxley at All In Texas.

But Allin could be a future AEW champion, because he just accomplished the most difficult feat that a human being can perform.

He climbed Mount Everest! Allin talked about it for a long time. His first attempt was postponed due to a foot injury. But Allin and his team finally reached the highest point on planet Earth.

Planting the AEW flag on top of Mount Everest is symbolic in many ways. It shows that Allin could become the standard-bearer for the company. It shows that he could defeat Moxley to win the AEW World championship. Who knows? It could even show that AEW could overcome WWE to become the top wrestling company in the world. WCW did it in the late ‘90s, so it’s not impossible.

When Allin returns from Asia and steps back into the ring, he will receive a huge groundswell of support from AEW fans. He was already very popular, but everyone must respect Allin for accomplishing an amazing feat that has nothing to do with pro wrestling. If Allin defeats Ospreay, Hangman, or Moxley to become AEW World champion, he will be on top of the wrestling world.

Thanks to Allin, we can all see what a view from the top of the world looks like. Check it out for yourself.
