Dark Side of the Ring has been going in-depth on various topics from the darker side of the wrestling industry since 2019. Across its first five seasons, Dark Side of the Ring creators Jason Eisener and Evan Husney have curated episodes on the death of Chris Benoit, the Owen Hart tragedy, WCW's infamous shows in North Korea, and so much more. Turns out the well hasn't been fully tapped yet as Dark Side of the Ring is set to return for a sixth season.
Vice confirmed Dark Side of the Ring will return for another ten-episode run via season six at the end of 2024, giving its first episode a March 2025 release date, so exactly one year on from the beginning of season five. With that premiere date fast approaching, you can find everything you need to know about Dark Side of the Ring's sixth season below, including the topics each episode will cover, and when they'll air.
As you might have guessed based on the content and how honestly, and often brutally, it's covered, Dark Side of the Ring isn't affiliated with a wrestling promotion. You won't find it on Netflix along with all of WWE's content, nor is it going to be popping up on Max alongside the latest episodes of AEW Dynamite. Dark Side of the Ring happens with the help of Vice, so that's where you will need to go to watch it.
That means, if you live in the US, you will be able to watch each episode of Dark Side of the Ring season six as they air on Vice TVevery Tuesday at 10 pm EST once season six is underway. You will also be able to watch after it has aired, and even online through the Vice website, although you will need to enter your provider details to do so. Watching new episodes of Dark Side of the Ring internationally is a little trickier and there will likely be a wait between its US premiere and each episode's arrival in other countries.
Neither Vice nor Dark Side of the Ring's creators have confirmed which episode will air first. However, if the order the ten topics were shown during the season six trailer is accurate, then the first episode of season six will cover Mick Foley and The Undertaker's infamous Hell in a Cell match . Somewhat shocking is that it has taken six seasons for Eisener and Husney to get to what is one of the most brutal matches in pro wrestling history.
The first episode of season six will air on Vice on March 25, 2025, as Dark Side of the Ring returns to its usual 10 pm Tuesday night timeslot, presumably for the entire ten-episode run. We know that Foley has been interviewed, likely pretty extensively for the episode, but since the series has no official ties with WWE, it seems unlikely The Undertaker will have contributed. Even though the match has been broken down thousands of times, similar to The Montreal Screwjob episode, it's almost a certainty Dark Side of the Ring's creators will have uncovered new information, or at least figured out a new way to tell a story most wrestling fans have heard over and over.
Other than season one, which ran for six episodes, and season three, which covered 14 topics, every other season of Dark Side of the Ring has been ten episodes long. Season 6 will stick to that status quo, covering a different subject each week with no two-parters this time around. Vice hasn't confirmed release dates for every episode. However, episode ten is slated to air on May 27, 2025, which means there will be an episode at 10 pm every Tuesday from March 25 until May 27.
Again, if the order shown during the trailer is anything to go by, the Foley debut will be followed by a Vader episode. It's another topic that's likely been on their to-do list for a while. It's just a shame that, much like his Hall of Fame induction, Vader won't be around to see it. Superstar Billy Graham and Muhammad Hassan are also among the wrestlers who will be getting their own Dark Side of the Ring episodes, with Marc Copani, the man who portrayed Hassan in WWE, interviewed for his episode. The full list of episode topics and their likely air dates can be found below.
If you're new to Dark Side of the Ring or you just want to go back and watch some of the older episodes before Season 6, you can. There are 50 episodes across its first five seasons, all of which are available to watch right now on Vice. As will be the case with new episodes in Season 6, you will need to enter the details of your provider to watch those older episodes on Vice in the US. Vice in other parts of the world, or whichever network airs the series where you are, should also have older episodes archived and available.
As for where to start, if you are brand new to Dark Side of the Ring and you have the time, go back to the beginning and work your way through. If you'd rather cherry-pick some of the best episodes ahead of Season 6, outside of the obvious topics that have been mentioned above, some of the more niche episodes that are must-watch include Nick Gage and deathmatch wrestling, the murder of Bruiser Brody, and the episode covering the tragic story of the Von Erich family.
